دونك عبدالله اهل ذاكا

خلافة اللَه الذي اعطاكا

خلافة اللَه الذي اعطاكا

Take it, ʿAbd Allāh—you are worthy of it:

Take it, Abd Allah—you are worthy of it:

God’s caliphate, which He has bestowed on you.

the caliphate of God, who bestowed it upon you.

اصفاك والله بها اصفاكا

اصفاك والله بها اصفاكا

فقد نظرنا زمنا اباكا

فقد نظرنا زمنا اباكا

He singled you out for it—by God, singled you out above all.

He singled you out for it—by God, He singled you out.

For we watched your father for a time,

For we considered your father for a time;

ثم نظرناها لها اياكا

ثم نظرناها لها اياكا

ونحن فيهم والهوى هواكا

ونحن فيهم والهوى هواكا

then looked to you as the one for that office,

then we considered it, with you in mind for it.

and while we were among them, our hearts inclined to you.

And we are among them, and our love is for you.
