حبالُك مِن رَمل الغناءِ خُدودُ

حبالُك مِن رَمل الغناءِ خُدودُ

What are you—or what is Umm ʿUthmān—now that

And what are you—or what is Umm Uthman—now that

your ridges in al-Ghanāʾ’s sands have become furrows?

Your ties to the sands of al-Ghina are severed?
