I praise the two sons of God's Messenger with the finest praise
that anyone has ever bestowed on anyone:
the two lords, noble in every branch of descent,
through both parents, through kin by marriage, and through offspring.
A lineage, one generation sprung from another, has flourished
in glory's foundation, with lofty roof and pillars.
How much good was built for them by Hasan,
and Hasan and Ali; they built for the morrow!
So God honored that house with an honor
that endures and abides in it to the end of eternity.
They are dew and bounty; their spear-shaft has no
crookedness when other shafts grow bent.
They are refined and pure of stock; their mothers,
when their lineage is traced, are clear, sweet water from a cool, lightning-bearing cloud.
From among the Fatimas—what nobility there is!—
to the Atikas: glory beyond reproach.
Glory culminates only in the sons of Hasan,
and apart from it, they have no house of refuge.
