A tawny one in a bright expanse—her wrap almost
goes empty, and satisfies what her wrap has loved.
And tadpoles plunged into the murk of stagnant pools,
Red-bellied, their lifespans short.
Orators, neither inept nor treacherous, when
the worst of other people's orators betray their trust.
And tomorrow, mourners wailing at midmorning:
Grey doves appear; all of them are her short ones.
