By God, part the carnelian from the hailstones,
Whose daisies he waters with the wine of his mouth.
And wipe the cheek-down’s rich perfumes from a moon
That has [dotted] his kisser’s cheek with roses.
Say to the sickness in his eye:
Leave him, and let my heart share in his sickness.
Every passion whose temptation is feared
Lies [between] his glances and his smile.
