تعاليتَ عن قدرِ المدائح صاعداً

فَسِيَّانَ عَفوُ القولِ عندكَ والحمدُ

فَسِيَّانَ عَفوُ القولِ عندكَ والحمدُ

You have risen, ascending beyond the measure of praise.

So, in your eyes, unstudied speech and praise are alike.

وإني لا أدري أنَّ وَصفَكَ زائدٌ

وإني لا أدري أنَّ وَصفَكَ زائدٌ

على منطقي لكن على الواصف الجهدُ

على منطقي لكن على الواصف الجهدُ

And I do not know whether describing you exceeds

my powers of speech; yet the one who describes must strive.

وأنَّ قليل القولِ يَكثُر زيغُهُ

وأنَّ قليل القولِ يَكثُر زيغُهُ

إذا أغرقت فيه الموالاةُ والوُدُّ

إذا أغرقت فيه الموالاةُ والوُدُّ

Even a little speech can stray greatly

when devotion and affection pour into it.
