لدعبل لعمة لمت بها

ليست له ما حييت أنساها

Duʿbal has a voracious streak for which I reproached him;

Duʿbil has a [word unclear as written]; I reproached him for it.

It is not his; “as long as I live, I shall forget it” [the Arabic syntax and intended sense are uncertain].

It is not his; as long as I live, I forget it [syntax unclear].

أدخلنا داره وأكرمنا

He admitted us into his house and honored us,

He brought us into his house and honored us,

And secretly slipped in his wife.

and concealed his wife.
