Sol 6.1

  1. We have rebutted a thousand verses by al-Ḥuṭayʾa.

    Thus the living man defeats a thousand dead.

  2. And that Duʿbil hopes, in folly

    and stupidity, to attain al-Kumayt’s reach.

  3. If a living man disputes with a stump in a grave,

    then that fellow is the son of a woman who whores for oil.
