مضى شهر الصيام فليت شعري

غدا في الحشر يشهد لي بمذا

غدا في الحشر يشهد لي بمذا

The month of fasting has passed; if only I knew

The month of fasting has passed, and I wonder,

what it will attest in my favor tomorrow at the Gathering.

Tomorrow on the Day of Resurrection, who will testify for me?

فاعماليإذا صحت لغيري

فاعماليإذا صحت لغيري

غدا أعماله وجدت جذاذا

غدا أعماله وجدت جذاذا

For my deeds, if sound, belong to another,

For if my deeds are sound for others,

whose deeds tomorrow are found in fragments.

Tomorrow their deeds will be worthless for me.

لقد ضيعت آناء حسانا

لقد ضيعت آناء حسانا

بتقصيري وأسحاراً لذاذا

بتقصيري وأسحاراً لذاذا

I have indeed squandered beautiful hours

I have wasted precious hours of goodness

through my negligence, and delightful predawn hours.

Through my shortcomings and sweet dawns.

إذا ما قمت تثقلني ذنوبي

إذا ما قمت تثقلني ذنوبي

وهل ينجو سوى من خف حاذا

وهل ينجو سوى من خف حاذا

When I rise, my sins weigh me down;

When I stand up, my sins weigh heavily upon me.

and who is saved but one whose back is lightly burdened?

Does any escape save those who tread lightly?

فهل لي نافع أن بات دمعي

فهل لي نافع أن بات دمعي

على ما فاتني يحكى الرذاذا

على ما فاتني يحكى الرذاذا

So will it help me that, all night, my tears

Is it any use that my tears flow

over what I have missed resemble drizzle?

Over what has passed, sprinkling like small raindrops?

وها أنا لم يدع لي فرط ذنبي

وها أنا لم يدع لي فرط ذنبي

سوى عفو الإله غدا ملاذا

سوى عفو الإله غدا ملاذا

And here I am: my excessive sin has left me

Yet my great sins have left me

no refuge tomorrow but God's pardon.

No refuge save my Lord’s pardon tomorrow.

أعوذ بفضله من سوء فعلي

أعوذ بفضله من سوء فعلي

وما خاب امرؤ بالله عاذا

وما خاب امرؤ بالله عاذا

I seek refuge in His grace from the evil of my actions;

I seek protection from the evil of my deeds

and no one who sought refuge in God was disappointed.

In His grace, for none despairs of Allah’s mercy.

وارجو حسن توحيدي وحبي ال

وارجو حسن توحيدي وحبي ال

نبي فعدتي هذا وهذا

نبي فعدتي هذا وهذا

And I place my hope in my sound belief in God's oneness and my love for the

I hope in my faithful tawhid and love of the Prophet,

Prophet; these two are my provision.

For this is my provision today and tomorrow.

وأني لا أزال أزيد مهما

وأني لا أزال أزيد مهما

تمادت مدتي بهما التذاذا

تمادت مدتي بهما التذاذا

And I never cease to grow, however

I will ever increase, no matter how long

long my life continues, in delight in them both.

My lifespan, in delight in them.

تداركني بعفوك يا إلهي

تداركني بعفوك يا إلهي

فسهم خطاي قد بلغ القذاذا

فسهم خطاي قد بلغ القذاذا

Rescue me with Your pardon, O my God;

Save me, my God, with Your pardon,

for the arrow of my sin has sunk to its fletching.

For the arrow of my sins has reached its target.

والألم لم أجد والذنب سور

والألم لم أجد والذنب سور

إلى نحو الشفيع غدا ملاذا

إلى نحو الشفيع غدا ملاذا

And the pain [wording unclear]; with sin a wall, I find no

I find no rest, and sin has shut off

refuge toward the Intercessor tomorrow.

Every way but to the Intercessor tomorrow as my refuge.
