O petitioner whom divine favor has blessed,

O supplicant who has been granted success,

do not forget a petitioner left bereft.

قل إذا طبت بالقدوم على طيبة

نفساً خلفت نضوا سقيما

Say, when you are blessed to arrive in Tayba:

“I left behind a soul, wasted and ill.”

واسأل الله لي بجاه الذي سرت

إليه بعد التنائي القدوما

Ask God for me, by the honor of him toward whom you journeyed,

And ask God for me, by the standing of the one you journeyed

to let me come unto him after long separation.

فاقترح وارج بالكريم الكريما

so ask what you will, and through the noble one hope in the All-Generous.

وإذا ما أردت تدعو خصوصاً

وإذا ما أردت تدعو خصوصاً

ثم فاجعله أن مننت عموما

ثم فاجعله أن مننت عموما

And if you wish to pray especially for me,

And when you wish to pray for someone in particular,

then—if you would favor me—make that prayer all-embracing.

تلقى في موقف الدعاء نوالا

شاملاً للورى واجرا عظيما

At the station of supplication, you will receive a bounty

وعطاء جماً وفضلاً غزيراً

a lavish gift and abundant grace,

and abundant gifts and plentiful grace,

ample generosity and all-embracing goodness.
