Entrust your affairs, rather than to mortals, to

Entrust your affairs among mankind to

Him in whose hands are the reins of benefit and harm.

The one in whose hands lies the reins of benefit and harm

وأرغب إلى فضله وأرغب بنفسك عن

وأرغب إلى فضله وأرغب بنفسك عن

سواه وأمدد إليه كف مفتقر

سواه وأمدد إليه كف مفتقر

And seek His bounty, and turn yourself away from

And incline to His grace and incline yourself away

Anyone else; and extend to Him the hand of one in need.

From all others, and extend to Him the palm of one in need

وقل يا لطيف الصنع بي أبداً

وقل يا لطيف الصنع بي أبداً

كن لي ولا تلجني يوماً إلى البشر

كن لي ولا تلجني يوماً إلى البشر

And say: O You, ever gentle in Your dealings with me,

And say: "O Gentle One in dealing with me always

Stand by me, and never force me to turn to mortals.

Be for me and never leave me to mankind"

فليس لي غير فقري يا غني ولا

وسيلة سوى المبعوث من مضر

وسيلة سوى المبعوث من مضر

For I have nothing but my poverty, O Self-Sufficient One, and no

خير البرية من حاف ومنتعل

وأشرف الخلق من بدوو من حضر

The best of creation, among the barefoot and the shod,

The best of creation, whether nomad or settled

And the noblest of creatures, among nomads and townsfolk.

And the noblest of people, whether Bedouin or city dweller
