فحمى رياض خدوده أن تجتني
And with my life's blood I would ransom him who unsheathed the keen sword of his glance,
With my affection I soothed his stern glance for a moment
then guarded the gardens of his cheeks lest they be plucked.
So the gardens of his cheeks would allow me to pluck their fruits

أو ريقه في قلبه نلت المنى
If the tenderness of his cheek, or of his speech,
If only the softness of his cheek, or his words
or of his saliva, were in his heart, I would attain my wishes.
Or his saliva reached his heart, my wishes would be fulfilled
