    Were I in Rayman, not departing

    ever, with its openings sealed with clay,

    with food and drink for me upon its heights,

    my death would come to me, seeking me.

    فمضيْتُ ثُمَّت قُلْتُ لا يعْنينِي

    And indeed, I passed a base man cursing me;

    so I went on, then said, “He does not mean me.”

    Enraged, his skin brimming with anger against me—

    indeed, by your Lord, his displeasure pleases me.

    Ah, many a base man, if word of my death reaches him,

    rejoices; and many a generous man, if I perish, grieves.
