وحيي ذلك الكون الجديدا

Sing, and fill the world with song,

And greet that new universe.

And revive that new universe

فإنّ الحب أبدعُهُ ، وإني

فإنّ الحب أبدعُهُ ، وإني

نظمت على بدائعه القصيدا

نظمت على بدائعه القصيدا

For love is its greatest wonder, and I

For I created love, and I

Have composed verse on its marvels.

Composed poems on its wonders

أجل حييه فهو لنا ، وإنّا

أجل حييه فهو لنا ، وإنّا

لنعمر كوننا عمرا سعيداً

لنعمر كوننا عمرا سعيداً

Yes, greet it, for it is ours, and we

Yes, celebrate it, for it is ours

Shall surely live a happy life in our universe.

And we will build our universe a happy age

نعيش معيشة الطلقاء فيهِ

نعيش معيشة الطلقاء فيهِ

وكَون الناس يثقلهم قيودا

وكَون الناس يثقلهم قيودا

We live the life of the free within it,

We will live the life of the free in it

While people's world weighs them down with chains.

While people are burdened by shackles

ونملكهُ وما الأحياء إلا

ونملكهُ وما الأحياء إلا

أجيري هذه الدنيا عبيدا

أجيري هذه الدنيا عبيدا

And we possess it; the living are nothing but

And we will own it, for the living are but

Hirelings of this world—slaves.

Hired hands in this mortal world

ونبذر فيه آمالا وضاء

ونبذر فيه آمالا وضاء

فينبت غرسها الطلع النضيدا

فينبت غرسها الطلع النضيدا

And we sow radiant hopes in it,

And we will sow in it hopes shining bright

And their plantings yield closely clustered palm blossoms.

With buds sprouting tender leaves

تغنّي بالرجاء وبالأمـاني

تغنّي بالرجاء وبالأمـاني

وبالنعمى تدوم لنا خلودا

وبالنعمى تدوم لنا خلودا

Sing of hope and wishes,

Sing of hope and wishes

And of bliss that endures for us forever.

And of blessings lasting forever

ومن فتن الحيـاة خذي الأغاني

ومن فتن الحيـاة خذي الأغاني

ومن خفقاتها صوغي النشيـدا

ومن خفقاتها صوغي النشيـدا

And from life's enchantments take songs,

And take from life's temptations, songs

And from its heartbeats fashion the song.

And fashion from its throbs, a melody

ومن شعري ؛ فقد نظّمت فيه

ومن شعري ؛ فقد نظّمت فيه

أهازيج الهوى لحنا فريدا

أهازيج الهوى لحنا فريدا

And from my poetry—for in it I have composed

For in my poetry, I have composed

Love's chants as a unique melody.

Songs of passion in a unique tune

فما أحلى الغنـاء بعذب شعر

فما أحلى الغنـاء بعذب شعر

نحيّي فيه عالمنا الوليدا

نحيّي فيه عالمنا الوليدا

So how sweet it is to sing with sweet verse,

How lovely is singing with poetry so sweet

In which we greet our newborn world.

That brings our new world alive
