    my letter; I repel the howling, raging wind.

    a tank ... a battleship ... a cannon.

  8. الشِّعر أحلامٌ .. شجى .. حرقةٌ

    أدمنتها لمَّا أزل مولعا

    Poetry is dreams ... sorrow ... a burning ache;

    I grew addicted to them; I am still enamored.

    من ألف قرنٍ يمنح الأروعا

    Poetry is a door at the frontiers of visions,

    that for a thousand centuries has offered what is most wondrous.
