طولٌ وطُولٌ فترى كَفَّهُ

طولٌ وطُولٌ فترى كَفَّهُ

يَنهَلُّ بالطَّولِ انهلالَ الغمام

Bounty and stature—so you see his hand

Pouring forth bounty like the downpour of rainclouds.

وطولُهُ يغتالُ يومَ الوَغى

وطولُهُ يغتالُ يومَ الوَغى

وغيره فَضلَ نجادِ الحُسام

وغيره فَضلَ نجادِ الحُسام

And his stature slays on the day of battle,

While another's is merely extra length in the sword's baldric.
