فلا تهلِكوا فَقراً على عِرقِ ناهِق
Who will convey a message to the young men of my people?
I am a messenger to the young men of my people
So do not perish of poverty on the ridge of Nāhiq;
Do not perish in poverty on the back of an exhausted she-camel

طِوال الهَوادي بائناتِ المَرَافِق
For there is abundant game there, and a herd of camels,
For with it is plentiful game and an onslaught
Long-necked, with elbows standing clear of their sides—
Tall are the valleys with distant views

دعاءً وقد جاوزنَ عُرضَ الشَقائِقِ
Noble ʿĪdī camels, the search for which amounts to
The raids of ‘Eid will be their desire
Calling out, though they have already crossed the breadth of the sand tracts.
As they have gone beyond the breadth of the anemones
