Dwellings in the Khabur's villages lie ruined, altered

after their people departed, by windblown sands and rain.

If your home, bereft of those who dwelt in it, becomes

desolate—such are the vicissitudes of time and fate.

And women with white bosoms once dwelt there,

like wild cattle amid dunes of white sand.
