أخيراً...،

عاهدتُ الزهور والفراشات..

Finally...

I pledged to the flowers and butterflies...

مثلما عاهدت نفسي...

أن..

just as I pledged to myself...

that...

لاأقرب شجرة التفاح، ولاأشمّ ثمارها..

فلقد ركلتني الى جحيم الارض

I would not approach the apple tree, nor smell her fruit...

For she had kicked me into the hell of the earth

وراحت توزع تفاحها بين المتملقين..............!!

وقالت إبتعد

and began distributing her apples among the flatterers...!!

And she said, "Go away,

فما عادت ثماري لكَ

أيها اللاغي المقيت...

for my fruit is no longer yours,

you loathsome babbler..."

وراحت

بعدما غُرّتْ بجمع الراكعين

And she went away

after being beguiled by the throng of those who knelt.
