ورأيتُكِ..

في الرؤيا رأيتُكْ..

And I saw you...

In the vision I saw you...

لاقمر من بعدكِ سيكون

ولاقبلكِ كانْ....

No moon will exist after you,

nor did one exist before you...

وأنَّ السطوعَ محض خيال

فلا نجمة لصفت في مداراتها

and that radiance is sheer illusion,

for no star gleamed in its orbits,

ولاعمّ في الكون السطوعْ

ورأيتكِ..

nor did radiance spread through the universe.

And I saw you...

تتربعين عرش بلقيس

والهدهد فوق كتفكِ يتلو:

seated upon the throne of Bilqis,

and the hoopoe upon your shoulder recites:

آيات الأخضرار

بمنقاره الذهبيّ يهبك عشب الخلود

verses of greening.

With its golden beak, it grants you the grass of immortality,

والوصيفات تردد وتصفق:

لاملكة من قبلكِ كانت

and the handmaidens repeat and clap:

No queen existed before you,

ولاسيدة من بعدكِ ستكون..

تعالَ...سليمان تعالَ

nor will any lady exist after you...

Come... Sulayman, come.

هي ذي ربّة الشعر والحكمة

طينها من نطفة العشق جُبلتْ

Here she is, the goddess of poetry and wisdom.

Her clay was kneaded from a drop of passionate love,

ومن جلود الفاتنات عطرها..*

فَلِمَ التردد..؟

and her perfume comes from the skins of alluring women...

So why the hesitation?

سُليمانَ تعال...

Sulayman, come...
