لَعَمرُby the life of أَبيكَyour father لاnot يَنفَكُّceases to be مِنّاamong us
لَعَمرُ أَبيكَ لا يَنفَكُّ مِنّا
أَخوa man of ثِقَةٍtrustworthiness يَعاشُlife is sustained بِهِthrough him مَتينُsteadfast
أَخو ثِقَةٍ يَعاشُ بِهِ مَتينُ
By your father's life, there is always among us
By your father's life, he will not depart from us
A trustworthy, steadfast man through whom life is sustained;
A trusted brother, with whom one can live secure
مُفيدٌa gatherer of wealth مُهلِكٌa lavish spender وَلِزازُand a tenacious challenger of خَصمٍan adversary
مُفيدٌ مُهلِكٌ وَلِزازُ خَصمٍ
عَلىon الميزانِthe scales ذوpossessor of زِنَةٍweight رَزينُdignified
عَلى الميزانِ ذو زِنَةٍ رَزينُ
A gatherer of wealth, a lavish spender, and a tenacious challenger of foes;
Beneficial, deadly, and a stubborn foe's discomfiture
On the scales, a man of weight and dignity.
On the scales, of weighty consequence
يَزيدُhe surpasses نَبالَةًin nobility عَنbeyond كُلِّevery شَيءٍthing
يَزيدُ نَبالَةً عَن كُلِّ شَيءٍ
وَنافِلَةًand bounty وَبَعضُand some of القَومِthe people دونُare lesser
وَنافِلَةً وَبَعضُ القَومِ دونُ
He surpasses all things in nobility
He excels all things in nobility
And bounty, while some men fall short.
And extras, while some of the people fall short
