1. إلى أين بالأبطال تسعى بهم شدّا

    أعقلك باقٍ أم بك المسّ لا يهدا

    Where are you leading the heroes with such force?

    Is your mind still sound or has madness taken hold?

  2. تصفِّد أهل الرأي ثم تزفهم

    بأغلالهم والدهر بالنحس قد جدّا

    You shackle the wise then parade them

    In chains, while fate frowns with ill luck.

  3. وتعتقل الأحرار والدهر كاشر

    وسود الليالي منك قد بلغت جُهدا

    You jail the free while destiny grins

    And the dark nights have exhausted you.

  4. عذرناك لو لم تدَّع الملك في غد

    ولو لم تكن في يومنا واليا عهدا

    We'd excuse you if you didn't claim the throne tomorrow

    And if you weren't the heir apparent today.

  5. لعمرك ما هذا الذي قد صنعته

    سوى عامل أبلى المحبة والودَّا

    By your life, this deed you have done

    Is nothing but one that destroys love and affection.

  6. ومالك والملك اليماني فإنه

    لمن يخطب الدنيا ويمهرها الرشدا

    You and the Yemeni King, he who

    Seeks the world and dowries it with integrity.

  7. وما غرست كفاك غير جناية

    فقم واحصد البغضاء من قطرنا حصدا

    Your hands have sown nothing but crimes

    So rise and reap the hatred from our country.

  8. إذا كنت لا ترضى سوى العسف شيمة

    فليس سوى الأهوال تُغري بك الندا

    If you will not accept anything but tyranny as your trait,

    Then nothing but horrors will lure you to contest.

  9. تخاصمنا بالدين والدينُ موجعٌ

    لأنك قد أدميت مهجته عمدا

    You fight us with religion yet religion

    Is pained for you have bloodied its essence intentionally.

  10. قضى باحترام المال والعرض والدما

    فَلِم لا تجد إلا الخلاف له ردّا

    It ordains respect for wealth, honor and blood

    So why do you only find defiance in response?

  11. وما زلت في توسيع دائرة الهوى

    ملحاً إلى أن جزن في فعلك الحدا

    You persist in expanding the realm of passion

    Yearning until you limit our actions.

  12. وإلا فهل ظلم النساء وهتكها

    حلال ولو في دين من يعبدا الصلدا

    Unless injustice, assault of women and violation of them

    Is permitted even in the religion of idol worshippers.

  13. أتقضي طواغيت بهدم بيوتها

    وترويعها والدمع يستعطف الجندا

    You decree tyrants by demolishing their homes

    And terrifying them while tears implore the soldiers.

  14. ويرضى لك الدين الحنيف وربه

    تصد النسا عن قوت أطفالها صدّا

    Does the pure religion and its Lord please you

    When women are barred from feeding their children?

  15. تركتهم والشمس ترسل نارها

    عليهم فلا مأوى هناك ولا سدّا

    You left them while the sun unleashes its fire

    Upon them with no shelter or shade.

  16. فلو فتشوا عن هيكل الطهر أحمد

    لقوا وجهه مما فعلت بهم يندا

    If they searched for the temple of purity, Ahmed

    They'd find his face grimacing at what you've done.

  17. وإن قلوب الناس أضحت مريضة

    لأنك حطّمت الديانة والمبدا

    The hearts of people have fallen ill

    For you've ruined religion and tenets.

  18. أليس الذي قد جئته لا يبيحه

    سوى الوحش لكن ليس نعني بها الأسدا

    Does not that which you've come to forbid

    Save for beasts, but we do not mean lions?

  19. اذا ما نسي التاريخ فالذنب واضح

    وإن ساءت الدنيا فقد رُعتَها كيدا

    If history forgets, the sin is evident

    And if the world is miserable, you have plotted it.

  20. سياستك الهوجا وميلك للهوى

    وحبك للواشين والظلم قد أودى

    Your reckless politics, lust for passion

    And love of slanderers and injustice have caused demise.

  21. وقد سرّنا أنا رأيناك آمرا

    علينا لأن الدين عرّفنا القصدا

    We were glad when we saw you commanding

    Us, for religion taught us purpose.

  22. عرفنا الذي تطويه للناس في غد

    اذا الله أولاك الخلافة والمجدا

    We recognized your plotting against people tomorrow

    When God granted you the caliphate and glory.

  23. فلما تآمرت استرحنا لأننا

    وجدناك للأوطان لا تحفظ العهدا

    So when you schemed, we were relieved, for we

    Found you do not honor pledges to homelands.

  24. فلا لوم إن لم تتّصل بقلوبنا

    ولا لوم إن لم نولك الودّ والحمدا

    No blame if hearts do not attach to you

    No blame if we do not give you affection or praise.

  25. جنيت على المختار في هتك شرعه

    فصرت ترى في دينه نكتة سودا

    You sinned against the Chosen by violating his law

    Until you saw jest in his religion.
