هذا كتاب بلاغاتٍ مؤلفه

بفضله قد أقر العرب والعجمُ

This is a book of eloquence, authored

By it Arabs and non-Arabs were guided

عز النظير له حتى لقد شهدوا

بأنه في العلوم المفرد العلم

Matchless it is, they even testified

That in knowledge, it is peerless and unified

وقد أصاب محشيه وضابطه

من حيث وافق المعنى به الكلم

Its commentator grasped and organized it

Matching meaning with words, excellently qualified

فألبس الأصل تفسيراً يسر به

إذا تأمل فيه الحاذق الفهم

Explaining the origin, facilitating

When contemplated by one of keen insight
