Ah—were this wing of mine not broken,
I would fly at once to the Hijaz.
My sure faith in Ahmad mends my brokenness;
every fracture, through Ahmad, is restored.
Master of creation, the Truth’s elect, sun of the—
—horizon, horizon of guidance, bearer of glad tidings and warner.
Whoever claims authority over my faith and worldly affairs—
I have no need of him; truly, I am poor.
My master, O father of al-Batul, come to my aid!
You know best what the heart conceals.
Should I place my hope in people whose spir—
—its are dead, their bodies their graves?
And you are the dearest of all creation in the sight of Go—
—d Most High; and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
Indeed, my Lord is gracious in accomplishing whatever He wills,
and my Lord is fully able to do whatever He wills.
Through you I call upon Him to ease my hardship;
for Him, easing my hardship is easy.
You are an excellent servant, noble in His sight,
and He is the best Protector and the best Helper.
