يا لَيتَني لِلحجازِ بالِغ

وفيهِ عَيشي يا سعدُ سائِغ

Oh how I wish I could reach the Hejaz

And live there happily, what bliss!

يُمحى ظَلامي بنورِ بدرٍ

في طيبة الطيّبين بازِغ

My darkness dispelled by Badr's light

Shining in Taybah, home of the pure

محمّدٌ سيّد البرايا

أفضل فردٍ في الخلق نابِغ

Muhammad, master of all mankind

The best of creation, outstanding

خاتمُ رسلِ الإله زينٌ

لَهُم له اللَّه خير صائِغ

Last seal of God's prophets, adorned

May Allah bless them, the excellent crafter

قَد ملِئ الكونُ من هداهُ

وَكانَ من قبل ذاك فارِغ

The world now filled with his guidance

Before which it had been empty

أَتى بدينٍ يهدي ويردي

لكلِّ دينٍ بالحقّ دامِغ

He brought a faith to guide and steer

Refuting all creeds forcefully

تِرياقُ توحيدهِ حياةٌ

لِمَن له الشرك شرُّ لادِغ

The antidote of his tawhid is life

While polytheism is a festering thorn

وَهوَ لعمري حِصنٌ حَصينٌ

مِن كلّ نازٍ وكلّ نازِغ

By my life he is a fortress, a refuge

From all who accuse and vilify

حقّاً رأى اللَّه في سراهُ

لِلعرشِ ما طرفهُ بزائِغ

Truly Allah saw wonders in his night journey

To the Throne, though its edge remains unseen

وَعادَ في ليلةٍ قريراً

عليهِ فضلُ الرحمنِ سابِغ

And returned in one night, blessed

By the Grace of the Merciful in abundance
