A solace of Allah she was bereaved

Far removed from blemish as she lived

Glad tidings and mourning came together

Oh how near her misfortune is to her wedding

Oh king time found its chance

Hurling an unwary heart

How many tears unstaunched and how

Many a spirit yearns long for you

I'll lament you as long as a veiled one wails

Crying in the dark gloom

Oh king in your faithfulness is a lesson

And precepts that sadden the companion

Beyond parting between us forever

In the bliss of your embrace sought
