أمُّ سلمٍ بذاك أعلمُ شيء
إنَّها تحتَ لضَروطُ
Of that, Umm Salm knows more than anything—
when underneath, she is indeed a habitual farter.
ولها تارةً إذا ما عَلاها
أزمَلٌ من وداقِها وأطيطُ
At times, whenever someone mounts her,
there comes a groan from her heat, and a creaking.
أمُّ سلمٍٍ تُعلم الشعرَ سَلماً
حبَّذا شِعرُ أمكَ المنقوطُ
Umm Salm teaches Salm poetry—
how fine your mother’s dotted poetry—her “hair”!
ليتَ شعري ما بالُ سلم بنِ عمرو
كاسفَ البالِ حين يُذكر لُوطْ
Would that I knew what ails Salm ibn Amr,
downcast at heart whenever Lot is mentioned.
لا يصلِّي عليه فيمن يُصلي
بل له عندَ ذكرِه تَثبيطْ
He does not invoke blessings upon him among those he blesses;
instead, at his mention, inhibition comes over him.
