ومعوقين عن الجهاد كتائبا

بالعذل والإرهاص والإحجام

And battalions hindered from jihad

With excuses, procrastination, and restraint

عابوا علي صراحتي أفلا درؤا

أن الصراحة جنتي وحسامي

They blamed my frankness, why didn't they repel

That frankness is my paradise and my sword

فأشحت عنهم معرضا وكأن في

أذني وقرا عن صدى اللوام

So I turned away from them disgusted, as if

In my ear and read the echo of blame

وصدعت بالحق المبين صراحة

حتى ولو أفضى إلى إعدامي

And I proclaimed the evident truth frankly

Even if it leads to my execution

وصرخت في وجه الطغاة مغاضبا

كفوا عن التعذيب والإيلام

And I shouted angrily in the face of tyrants

Stop the torture and pain

والله لو قطعتم لحمي أذى

وطحنتم قبل الممات عظامي

By Allah, even if you cut my flesh to hurt me

And crushed my bones before death

ما زغت عن هدي النبي محمد

كلا ولا نافقت للحكام

I would not deviate from the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad

No, and I would not be hypocritical to the rulers

آمنت بالقرآن جامع شملنا

كفرت بالزعماء والأصنام

I believed in the Qur'an, unifier of our nation

I disbelieved in the leaders and idols

سكت الزمان وظل صوت محمد

كالرعد يقصف في رؤى الظلام

Like thunder pounding the visions of darkness

A hope that fulfills the most beautiful dreams

وترا يجيء بأعذب الأنغام

A lute that brings the sweetest melodies

سدا يصد مسارب الأجرام

A dam that blocks the passages of criminals

نورا يضيء على مدى الأيام

A light that illuminates through the days

الله أكبر عند كل صدام
