1. ذكرى تمر وعبرة تتكرر

    تطوى لحكمتها الحياة وتنشر

    Memories pass as lessons repeat,

    Life folds for their wisdom then unfurls,

  2. ذكرى بها تنجاب كل مصيبة

    صفو الحياة بمثلها يتكدر

    Memories through which each adversity flees,

    Life's essence by them turns bitter.

  3. ذكرى بها تحيا القلوب وينجلي

    عنها الصدى وقيودها تتكسر

    Memories by which hearts come alive and shine,

    Their echoes and bonds thereby shatter.

  4. ذكرى الرسول وأي ذكرى هذه

    ماذا أقول حيالها وأحرر

    Memories of the Messenger - what memories!

    What can I say of them, how can I express?

  5. يا قوم ما أنا بالمبالغ ههنا

    أبدا ففضل محمد لا يحصر

    O people, I do not exaggerate here,

    For Muhammad's virtues are beyond measure.

  6. مثل يكل البال عن تعدادها

    ويضيق عن أن يحتويها الدفتر

    An example that exhausts the mind in counting,

    Too great for pages to deliver.

  7. وصفاته تنبيك عنه بأنه

    بحر ولكن غوره لا يسبر

    His traits point to him as an ocean,

    With depths unfathomed, shores immeasurable.

  8. وقف الأنام على شواطىء عامة

    فتعجبوا مما رأوا وتحيروا

    People stood at its public shores,

    Amazed by what they saw, confused.

  9. عفوا رسول الله يا من جئتنا

    بشريعة كالصبح بل هي أنور

    Forgive me, O Messenger of God, you who came

    With a law like the dawn, nay, brighter.

  10. يا من بعثت بأمة أمية

    كانت بأذيال العمى تتعثر

    You who was sent to an unlettered nation,

    Stumbling at the fringes of blindness.

  11. في أمة جهلاء بات كبيرها

    وصغيرها مما بها يتذمر

    To a nation whose elders and young

    Grumbled about what afflicted them.

  12. رأووا الأمانة فيك يسطع نورها

    والصدق ينضح من هداك ويقطر

    They saw the light of trust in you shining,

    Truth dripping from your guidance, flowing.

  13. قد كنت ينبوع الفضيلة والهدى

    منك السماحة والندى يتفجر

    You were virtue's fountain and guide,

    From you came gentleness, dew bursting forth.

  14. ولدت بمولدك الفضائل كلها

    فانهارت الفحشا وزال المنكر

    Your birth gave rise to all virtues,

    Vice faded away, evil vanished.

  15. وتصدعت للظلم أكبر قلعة

    قد كان كسرى تحتها يتبختر

    The greatest fortress of injustice cracked,

    Where Chosroes had once swaggered.

  16. فانكب مبهوتا يقلب طرفه

    وكأنما هو في خيال يعبر

    He fell back, stunned, turning his eyes,

    As though lost in a dream's illusion.

  17. وإذا بذياك الخيال حقيقة

    تتغير الدنيا ولا يتغير

    Yet that dream-like illusion was reality -

    The world transformed, change unchanging.

  18. رغم العصور السود ظلت آية

    كبرى لعاقبة الذين تجبروا

    Despite dark eras, a great sign remains

    Of the fate of those who were arrogant.

  19. يا قوم إن الله ليس بغافل

    فالله مطلع رقيب ينظر

    O people, God is not unaware,

    For God is Watchful, Seeing all.

  20. يجزي ذوي الايمان عن إيمانهم

    خيرا ويصلي ناره من يكفر

    He rewards the faithful for their faith,

    And prepares Hellfire for unbelievers.

  21. يا قوم هل معنى التقدم أننا

    ندعوا لما يدعو إليه الفجر

    O people, does progress mean that we

    Call for what dawn calls to?

  22. يا قوم هل معنى التقدم أننا

    بالدين نهزأ بالشريعة نسخر

    O people, does progress mean that we

    Mock religion and sacred law?

  23. أنزيغ عن هدي الرسول محمد

    عمدا ونلوي خدنا ونصعر

    That we intentionally deviate

    From Muhammad's guidance, twist and turn away?

  24. وتروح نطلب من فرنسا شرعه

    عمياء قد مرت عليها أعصر

    And foolishly seek from France its laws

    After centuries have passed it by?

  25. هبت على الدنيا عواصف ظلمها

    فكأنما هبت عليها صرصر

    Storms of its injustice blew over the world,

    As if locusts swarmed over it.

  26. يا شرعه هي في الحقيقة لم تكن

    إلا كما يرضى ويهوى قيصر

    O laws that were never truly

    But what Caesar desired and fancied.

  27. أيعطل القرآن في أوطانه

    ويسود دستور الفرنج ونصبر

    Will the Quran be suspended in its lands

    And the Franks' constitution spread as we resign?
