1. أَعَمرَ بنَ هِندٍ ما تَرى رَأيَ صِرمَةٍ

    لَها سَبَبٌ تَرعى بِهِ الماءَ وَالشَجَر

    A'mar son of Hind does not consider the opinion of Sirmas,

    She has a path by which she waters the trees,

  2. وَكانَ لَها جارانِ قابوسُ مِنهُما

    وَعَمروٌ وَلَم أَستَرعِها الشَمسَ وَالقَمَر

    And she had two neighbours, Qabus was one of them,

    And Amru, neither did the sun or moon sway her,

  3. رَأَيتُ القَوافي يَتَّلِجنَ مَوالِجاً

    تَضَيَّقُ عَنها أَن تَوَلَّجَها الإِبَر

    I saw the rhymes brilliantly intertwined,

    Too narrow for the needles to intertwine them.
