Your restless eye tonight, long and anxious

Wanders, and the glance of despair startles me

I yearned for you and extended my neck

And returned like nomads, no clouds make them laugh

Their frown from the bitterness of travel burnt

I protect your heart from a memory that troubles it

I protect it from my longing for the one who created it

I protect your eye from a union that troubles it

If the cold extends in our souls it worries

Fate sculpted you away from me, though my patience robe - however much I fortified it - was ripped

In God’s care, O an apparition that laughed at me

So my life was lost in his laughters stolen

Rihana tasked me to fly for her

A soul to inhabit the horizon of love and its horizons

The nightingales' flocks come wandering in

My chest, and get drunk in their soft dreams

She disappears, settles in the bossom of her beloved

If a lover pulled her, who adored her, to love

I cry for the sweet youth on a branch, a Tamees, that

No leaf remains on it for the eye of the loved one

All that was...that death took us by surprise

And fate extinguished between us its paths

All that was...that estrangement woke up

And the night scattered on our eyelids its darkness

And old age overtook my poems so it disabled me

A text that tells me about a bygone image

In God’s care, O you whom I came searching for

My soul but found it in a thin cloud

She passed - may God rest her soul - to God and started

Poems of longing that evoke compassion

Oh winter, whenever forgetfulness warmed me

He surrendered his arms to forgetfulness and embraced it

    In God’s care, O a soul I rose with

And the first name my heart uttered in love

In God's care, O a whole world that lives with me

And people think it a line on a paper
