1. معالي الأمور الساميات المعالم

    لأهل التقى والجود أهل المكارم

    The sublime affairs, the lofty principles

    Are for the people of piety and generosity, the people of virtues

  2. وبالحزم للأعدا وبالعزم في الوغى

    تنال العلا بالمرهفات الصوارم

    And with determination against the enemies and resolve in battle

    You attain glory with keen swords

  3. وكل معالي الخلتين أخذتها

    ونلت ذراها في الخطوب العظائم

    And you have taken all the lofty morals of both generations

    And attained their peaks in the great misfortunes

  4. وقد فقت أبناء الملوك جميعهم

    بجد وإقدام بكل الملاحم

    And you have surpassed all the sons of kings

    With excellence and valor in all battles

  5. يلاحظك الإسعاد أين تيممت

    بنودك لا يثنيك لومات لائم

    Good fortune looks upon you wherever you turn

    Your aims—no blamer can deter you from the exalted pleasures

  6. وما قصرت أعداك في الحزم والدهى

    وتقليهم أفكارهم للمصادم

    You did not fall short against your enemies in resolve and cunning

    And foiling their schemes for the encounter

  7. وقد جمعوا جيشاً لهاماً عرمرماً

    وصالوا به واستنجدوا كل ظالم

    And they had gathered an intrepid and tumultuous army

    And advanced with it and sought the aid of every oppressor

  8. ولكن دهاهم من دهائك فتكة

    بفتيان صدق كالأسود الضراغم

    But your cunning routed them with a sudden onslaught

    By sincere warriors like fierce lions

  9. وحسن رجاء الله فيما ترومه

    بحزم وعزم والوفاء الملازم

    May you be fortunate in your endeavors

    With resolve, determination, steadfast loyalty

  10. وصدق وتدبير وحسن طويةٍ

    حللت بها فوق السها والنعائم

    Sincerity, planning, and excellent stratagems

    You have adorned yourself above glory and bounty

  11. ولاحظك الإقبال والعز فاستما

    لك النصر والإسعاف بين العوالم

    May good fortune and honor look upon you, so keep on

    Victory and succor are destined for you among all nations

  12. وحل بهم ما حل بالناس قبلهم

    قديماً من الإدبار عند الملاحم

    And what befell people before them has befallen them

    Of old—retreat in battles

  13. لأمر قضاه الله جل جلاله

    وليس لأمرٍ حمه من مصادم

    By God's decree—may His majesty be exalted

    And no scheme can avert what is destined

  14. فسرت إليهم بالجيوش تقودها

    لتفجأهم في غرة بالضياغم

    You marched against them with armies you led

    To take them unaware with a sudden raid

  15. لعمري لقد كانوا ليوثاً لدى الوغى

    وليس لهم عند اللقا من مقاوم

    By my life, they were lions in the fray

    But in battle, they had no resistance

  16. أبدت بها حضراهمو فتمزقوا

    أيادي سبا واستأصلت كل غاشم

    You showed them your strength and they were torn to pieces

    The hands of war captives, and you uprooted every tyrant

  17. وولت على الأعقاب حرب وما ارعوت

    ولكنهم باءوا بشر الهزائم

    You charged in battle and did not slow down

    But they met the worst of defeats

  18. وحالت على أبناء حائل وقعة

    أبحت بها خضراهمو بالصوارم

    And there befell the people of Hail a calamity

    By which you made their greenery barren with swords

  19. وقد غودرا في فيضة السر جثما

    طعام سباع والنسور الحوائم

    Ambushed in the flood of destiny, prone

    As meat for beasts and circling vultures

  20. ووالله ما من وقعة قبلها أتت

    عليهم فقد باءوا بإحدى القواصم

    By God, no calamity before it came upon them

    For they met with one of the greatest disasters

  21. وأخرى ستدهاهم بها في بلادهم

    وتفجئهم فيها بأسدٍ ضياغم

    And another will overwhelm them in their lands

    And take them unaware with a fierce lion

  22. يسومون في الهيجا نفوساً عزيزة

    وترخص منهم في حضور المواسم

    Who will ambush their cherished souls in the Hijaz

    And cheapen them during the pilgrimage seasons

  23. وتستأصل الأعدا بها وتسومهم

    بها الخسف والإذلال سوم البهائم

    And uproot the enemies with it and humiliate them

    With abasement and humiliation, like beasts

  24. بحول الذي فوق السموات عرشه

    ويسعدك الإسعاف في كل ظالم

    By the power of He whose throne is above the heavens

    And may good fortune aid you against every oppressor

  25. فيا من سما مجداً وجوداً وسؤدداً

    وحل على هام السها والنعائم

    O you whose glory, generosity, and felicity have reached the heights

    And settled upon the crown of loftiness and bounty

  26. ليهنك يا شمس البلاد وبدرها

    بلوغ المنى من كل باغ وغاشم

    May reaching your hopes gladden you, O sun and moon of the country

    And foiling every rebel and tyrant

  27. هنيئاً لك العز المؤثل والعلا

    هنيئاً هنيئاً فخرها في العوالم

    Congratulations on everlasting mighty glory

    Congratulations, congratulations, pride among all nations

  28. فهذا هو الفتح الذي جل ذكره

    وهذا هو العز الرفيع الدعائم

    For this is the great victory whose fame rang loud

    And this is the lofty glory with firm pillars

  29. فلله من يوم عظيم عصبصب

    يشيب النواصي هوله في الملاحم

    So thank God for a momentous day

    That turns gray hair white with its awesomeness in battle

  30. فشكراً لمن أولاك عزاً ورفعة

    ونصراً واسعاً على كل ظالم

    So thank you, Who granted you glory and elevation

    And ample victory over every oppressor

  31. فذي وقعة ما مثلها شاع ذكرها

    ولا مثلها فيهم أتت بالعظائم

    This battle whose fame spread has no equal

    And nothing like it brought such great events

  32. ولا قبلها كانت عليهم فجائع

    ولا سامهم من قبلها ذل سائم

    Nor did calamities befall them before it

    Nor did such disgrace afflict them before it

  33. فلا زلت في عز أطيد مؤثل

    وأعداك في خفض وذل ملازم

    You remain in mighty, long-lasting glory

    While your enemies remain in humiliation and defeat

  34. ولا زلت وطاء على هامة العدا

    لك النقض والإبرام بين العوالم

    You remain supreme over the heads of your enemies

    To you belong decimation and restoration among all people

  35. ولا زلت كهفاً للعفات ومعقلاً

    منيعاً منيفاً في الخطوب العظائم

    You remain a refuge for the virtuous and an impregnable

    Abode, lofty and robust in great misfortunes

  36. وصل على خير الأنام محمد

    وأصحابه والآل أهل المكارم

    May blessings be upon the best of mankind, Muhammad

    And his companions and family, people of virtues

  37. وأتباعه والتابعين لنهجهم

    على سنة المعصوم صفوة آدم

    And his followers and those who follow their path

    Upon the way of the infallible, the elite of Adam

  38. طار الكراء وفاض الدمع وانسجما

    من فادح حادث بالناس قد دهما

    Time has passed and tears overflowed, joined

    By the immense tragedy that befell people and overwhelmed them

  39. وثلمته فرجت في الدين وانثلمت

    لا يستطيع امرءاً سداً لما انثلما

    Its rent was mended in religion, and rent

    No man can mend what has been rent

  40. بعالم عام في بحر العلوم فلم

    يترك لمنتقد قولا ولا كلما

    A scholar in the sea of knowledge, he left

    No room for critics, neither words nor phrases

  41. وفاضل حمدت في الناس سيرته

    بالحلم فاق على أقرانه فسما

    A jurist whose conduct among people was praised

    He surpassed his peers in wisdom and reached lofty heights

  42. قد أقفرت وخلت منه الربوع فيا

    للعلم فابكوا دماً بل اخضلوا ديما

    God adorned him with piety and clothed him

    And God singled him out with His revelation, so he held firm

  43. وابكوه وارثوه إن كنتم ذوي حزن

    وذوي اكتئاب على فدح بكم دهما

    I mean by this one whose lineage was pure

    The remnant of scholars, the eminent nobles

  44. لله در إمام زاهد ورع

    وعالم بنعوت العلم قد وسما

    That is the son of the Sultan whose virtues spread

    Muhammad, distinguished by the grace of knowledge

  45. ومن فقيه غدا من فقهه علماً

    ومنهلاً سلسبيلاً مفعما حكما

    I hope for him success and forgiveness

    And an abode near God, enjoying bliss

  46. قد زانه الله بالتقوى وسربله

    وخصه الله من وحييه فاعتصما

    May God elevate him in Paradise

    And may God reward him with His approval and generosity

  47. أعني بذلك من طابت أرومته

    بقية العلماء السادة القدما

    And may God reward him from the sea of His mercy

    And grace—the best reward for knowledge

  48. ذاك ابن سلطان من شاعت فضائله

    محمداً من بفضل العلم قد وسما

    A sea that passed away with time and vanished

    Until he settled as dust in the earth and crumbled

  49. إني لأرجو له فوزاً ومغفرة

    ومنزلاً بجوار الله منتعما

    When the mourners announced his death, that death

    Had set camp, the journey ended and the tent pegs were pulled up

  50. فالله يعليه من فردوسه درجاً

    والله يجزيه رضوانه كرما

    The minds of reasonable people were distraught and torn apart

    Our hearts cracked from this immense calamity when it grew

  51. والله يجزيه من حبر برحمته

    وفضله خير ما يجزي به العلما

    And after him we were afflicted with sorrow that robbed us of sleep

    But we do not resist what God has decreed

  52. حبر تقضت به الأيام وانصرمت

    حتى اغتدى رمس بالثرى أرما

    When all the lands grew dark and the affliction

    Spread among the people, the heart was filled with gloom

  53. لما نعى موته الناعون أن به

    ريب المنون أناخ الرحل فاخترما

    And this ignorance spread among people and the

    Features of knowledge faded away and were obliterated

  54. طاشت حلوم ذوي الألباب وانصدعت

    منا القلوب لهذا الخطب إذ عظما

    Whoever loses every trusted scholar

    Who protected the sanctity of Sharia has crumbled

  55. وضافنا بعده هم فأرقنا

    وليس عما قضاه الله منهزما

    Like the trustee jurist endowed with grace

    By bestowing knowledge upon people that he learned

  56. إني وقد أظلمت كل البلاد وقد

    عم البلاء فأبد القلب مالتما

    His nickname was Abu Hasan, his resolve was pure

    He was a beacon of excellence in their knowledge

  57. وفاض في الناس هذا الجهل واندرست

    معالم العلم حتى غاض وانصرما

    And his unique son whose virtues spread

    Like the sun traversing the horizons when it reached its highest point

  58. من فقد كل إمام جهبذ ثقة

    قد اعتنى بحماء الشرع فانتضما

    Whoever seeks heights of glory until he attains them

    His virtues exhaust prose and verse equally

  59. كالفاضل الثقة الموهوب تكرمة

    فضلاً على الناس بالعلم الذي علما

    After them, their heirs grew darker and

    Ignorance took hold in the regions when it overflowed

  60. يكنى أبا حسن من طاب محتده

    من كان للفضلا في علمهم علما

    Then, peace be upon our master, the infallible

    The most virtuous of mankind, indeed, of immaculate repute

  61. ونجله الفرد سارت فضائله

    مسير ذا الشمس في الأقطار حين سما

    And his Household, and the companions whenever the breeze blew

    Time passed and tears overflowed, joined together

  62. من رام شأو العلا حتى علاه وقد

    أعيت مناقبه نثراً ومنتظما

  63. فأظلمت بعدهم أجراؤه وعفت

    واستحكم الجهل في الأقطار حين طما

  64. ثم الصلاة على المعصوم سيدنا

    أزكى البرية بل أزكاهمو ذمما

  65. والآل والصحب ما هب النسيم وما

    طار الكراء وفاض الدمع وانسجما
