انهض جناحًا في سماء الأنسنةْ

‏هل قِيل أن الروح تبقى موهنَةْ؟!

Rise, a wing in the sky of humaneness

Has it been said that the soul remains humiliated?!

‏هل قِيل أن الناس : جوفٌ فارغٌ

‏نهمٌ وأجسادٌ تَسيرُ مؤ بَّنــةْ؟!

Has it been said that people are empty hollows

Thirst and bodies walking established?!

‏عقلٌ تهاوى وهو في أبراجهِ

‏كالصرحِ يبهت حين يفقد معدنَهْ

A mind collapsed while in its towers

Like a palace perplexed when it loses its foundation

‏لاذنب للأيام إن ضجّت بنا

‏فالدهر يبدو صامتًا ما أمكنهْ !

No blame on the days if they roar at us

For time seems silent as much as it can!
