With Sa'd's mounted riders at Khindif

And with Qais, you know their abode,

And if you ask Al-Hayy from Wail

A young camel will inform you, and its old one too.

At the valleys of Jadood, now desolated

By the neighing of the horse stallions

With mounted knights, like pillars from Wail

    Guarding the frontiers, roaming them

The earth nearly shakes for him out of veneration

When he walks, its pillars tremble

Qadamis leads them, driven by motivation

    And Abjar, whose heels flutter

And Jaththam, when he walked among his people

He brought us foolishness, and his red camels

And Taghlib, when the enemy of Laqeeh fought it

It raged, and its fires blazed

The morning the sound of drums reached us

With no regard for abandoning it

A cry for Dhabbah, the day of Hudhail

And Dhabbah returns the wailing of its women

They took them by surprise, and the dawn was a raid

The kindling fires of the warriors' quarters

With lions from the horsemen, vanquishers of necks

Unafraid, did not dread its inflammation

So it destroyed a blooming youth, Sharmadh

Whose desires were boundless, well-bred his pedigree

Qadim leads them, and fame is known upon his neck

Which his twisted and curled hair-locks sing of
