1. هناك بذلك العلم

    منازلنا من القدم

    There, with that knowledge,

    Are our homes from the past,

  2. ترى عيني مرابعها

    ولا تسعى لها قدمي

    My eyes see their squares,

    Yet my feet do not head to them.

  3. لئن عزت علي فقد

    فديت ترابها بدمي

    If leaving them was hard for me,

    I would ransom their soil with my blood.

  4. أسبت لموطني يمسي

    ملاذ حثالة الأمم

    I bid farewell to my homeland as it turns to dusk,

    A refuge for the riffraff of nations,

  5. ويهجره بنوه الصيد

    أهل المجد والكرم

    Abandoned by its noble and generous people.

    There, I had family,

  6. هناك كان لي أهل

    وأصحاب وجيران

    Friends and neighbors.

    There, I had hope,

  7. هنالك كان لي أمل

    وأفراح وأحزان

    Joys and sorrows.

    But the turns of fate estranged us -

  8. فأقصتنا صروف الدهر

    لا كنا ولا كانوا

    Neither we nor they exist.

    A country sold for pittance

  9. بلاد باعها بالسحت

    سمار وخوان

    By treacherous wheeler-dealers,

    And people scattered across the earth -

  10. وأهل شردوا في الأرض

    لولا الغدر ما هانوا

    Had it not been for betrayal, they would not have been disgraced.

    Tomorrow, the free will shatter

  11. غداً سيحطم الأحرار

    قيد الذل والعار

    The shackles of humiliation and shame.

    Tomorrow, the homelands will be cleansed

  12. غدا ستطهّر الأوطان

    من طغمة فجار

    Of the tyranny of villains.

    Tomorrow, the long-awaited tomorrow of vengeance must come,

  13. غداً لا بد أن يأتي

    الغد المرجو بالثار

    And the face of truth must shine forth.

    I will go forth, shrouded in my burial cloth,

  14. ولا بد لوجه الحق

    أن يجلى باسفار

    To raise my nation's flag,

    And defend the homes of my ancestors,

  15. سأقدم حاملاً كفني

    لأرفعَ راية الوطن

    Despite the pain of ordeals.

    If I die a martyr for truth

  16. وأحمي موئل الأجداد

    رغم فواجع المحن

    And loyalty to the cause,

    Bury me on the heights,

  17. فان مت شهيد الحق

    والإخلاص للسكن

    Above the summit of spears.

    There in the ancient soil

  18. فحطوا في العلا جدثي

    وفوق شوامخ القُنَن

    I will slumber for all time.

    When will we return to the past,

  19. هنالك في الثرى القد

    سيّ أرقدُ في مدى الزمن

    Free of oppression's tyranny?

    When will we vanquish the oppressor,

  20. متى سنعود للماضي

    أباة الضيم أحرارا

    And appease the raging soul?

    When we will leave no dissidents

  21. متى نقضي على الباغي

    وتقضي النفس أوطارا

    In our homelands?

    When we will wash the countries with the blood of tyrants,

  22. ولا نبقي من الشذاذ

    في الأوطان ديارا

    And take vengeance?

  23. ونغسل بالدم القاني

    البلاد ونأخذ الثارا
