On the day of Nahawand I was present but did not waver
And all the tribes acted virtuously that day
In the evening the Persian turned away defeated
Towards a barren mountain, fearing reprisals
My brother, energetic and intrepid, caught up with him
And dispatched him when fates collided
Their disjointed limbs lay in every ravine
Food for the vicious and famished wolves
