If I had wanted to be a teacher

I would have been, but the ignorant learned

And he who has no useful ignorance

For people who see knowledge as money and coins

And a luxurious house and tattered clothes

And a pampered life and an exalted status

And my knowledge for the seeker of wealth is not essential

So for him, secretly I am not a treasure

If I had wanted to be a singer

I would have been, but the raven sang

And he who has no enjoyable sights

For people who see art as a covetous body

And a tamed composition with breasts and a harem

To quench hell and return steaming

And my art for the seeker of lust is not inspiring

So on his path, I am not known

If I had wanted to be a cleric

I would have been, but lies became clerical

And he who has no convincing proofs

For people who see ladders to heaven in religion

And a determined sword and an opinion made clerical

And a son put forward and sex made orderly

And my religion for the seeker of the lowly is not binding

So in its law, I am not a Muslim

If I had wanted to be a ruler

I would have been, but theft ruled

And he who has no useful politics

For people who see a star in politics

And I am not a supporter of bloodsuckers

So my leadership became a criminal act
