ألا في دماهمُ الولاءُ لكلِّ ما

خلا اللهَ مُذ على البسيطةِ سالوا

Behold, in their blood, allegiance to all but God

Since they spilled it on the plain

بقدرِ بياضِ زيّهم في قلوبهمْ

سوادٌ كقلبِ منْ لدينهِ مالوا

As white as their raiment in their hearts

Darkness, like the heart of one who has strayed from his faith
