قنابل من قحطان لم يرَ مثلهم

إذا الصدع أعبا رأيه كل شاعب

Bombs from Qahtan the likes of whom were never seen

When the cleavage became difficult, every tribe saw its view

فلما رأيناهم دلفنا لجمعهم

بأرعن جرار عظيم المناكبِ

When we saw them, we marched to meet them

With swift, huge-shouldered camels

وشكتْ بأطرافِ الرماح جلودهم

فمن بين مقتول وآخر هاربِ

And their skins were pierced by the tips of spears

With some being killed and others fleeing
