1. حيّى الحيا ذات المقام العامر

    عكا العلاذات الفخار الزاهر

    Greet the living one of eminent abode

    The crowns of the adorned and flowering Akka

  2. بلدٌ على البلدان طراً قد غدت

    في حسنها أعجوبة للناظر

    A country surpassing other countries

    A marvel to behold in its beauty

  3. كم فاخرت بوزيرها المولى الذي

    لمقامه ينقاد كل موازرِ

    How splendid with its minister, the protector

    To whose authority all bow in obedience

  4. فرع المعظم أحمد المرحوم جز

    أر العدا رب الحسام الباترِ

    The exalted branch Ahmad the deceased

    May God curse his enemies, Lord of the unsheathed swords

  5. نعم الخليفة خير اربات الولا

    من كل والٍ سالفٍ ومعاصرِ

    Indeed the best Caliph, the virtuous one of Caliphs

    Past, present and future

  6. الجهبذ السامى على الوزراء مو

    لانا عميم الحلم غوث الحايرِ

    The grand, lofty over ministers

    Our kind, forbearing succor of the perplexed

  7. الشهم صدر الدولة العليا على

    أعلى قياصرة مضت وأكاسرِ

    The intrepid, pillar of the exalted state

    Above the highest of passed and future Caesars

  8. ضاهى سليمان الزمان مماثلاً

    في كل أوصافٍ له ومأثرِ

    Rivaling Solomon of the age, resembling him

    In every quality and deed

  9. ملأ الورى قطاً غدت ذكراه فا

    كهةً لكل مامرٍ ومذاكرِ

    He filled the world with justice, his memory

    Shining for all speakers and writers

  10. يامهُ الغرّاء حاكت في البها

    شمساً تجلّت بالضياء الباهرِ

    His radiant days portrayed a sun

    Beaming with brilliant light

  11. محقت ظلام الظلم عند بزوغها

    ومحت ضباب غيوم جور الجايرِ

    Vanquishing the darkness of oppression at its rise

    And erasing the clouds of the oppressor's injustice

  12. فيه تفاخر قطرنا الشامي في

    أمنٍ مشاعٍ بالثنا المتواترِ

    With him our Levantine region prides itself

    On security broadcasting good news

  13. أحيى الشرايع بعد أن كادت بان

    تفنى وزينها بخير شعايرِ

    He revived the Divine Laws when they had

    Nearly perished, adorning them with excellent rituals

  14. كم من سبيلٍ في سبيل الله قد

    أنشي لغوث ابن السبيل العابر

    How many paths made for the wayfarer

    To aid the destitute traveler

  15. وكم اعتنى في مبتنى خيريّةٍ

    وأشاد من جسرٍ رميم داشرِ

    And how much he strove to construct charities

    And establish bridges over perilous ravines

  16. فانكف غدر غديره وقد اكتفى

    من فوقه المجتاز هول مخاطرِ

    Saving those crossing above from the horrors of danger

    How much he brought back to obedience tribes

  17. وكم استعاد إلى الإطاعة حكمةً

    منهُ جموع قبايلٍ وعشايرِ

    Who obey none but the grateful praising him

    And how much territory he recovered reassuring

  18. ما بينهم الاّ المطيع لهُ وما

    فيهم سوى من حامدٍ مع شاكرِ

    Nations, smoothing the rugged road

    Erasing unjust taxes and fines

  19. وكم استرد شواراداً واراح من

    أمم ومهّد من طريقٍ شاغرِ

    Extinguishing the scattered sparks of evil

    Until his rule became a wondrous proverb

  20. ومحا رسوم مظالمِ ومغارمٍ

    وطفى شرارة شرها المتناثرِ

    Reviving souls when they inhale its fragrance

    Like the scent of sweet perfume

  21. حتى غدت أحكامه بين الورى

    ضرباً من المثل العجيب السايرِ

    The rays of his justice dimmed the effects

    Of that insignificant pretender

  22. تحيى النفوس بها إذا ما استنشقت

    من نثرها عرفاً كطيبٍ عاطرِ

    A hero, when warclouds gather he becomes

    A lion over strutting ostriches

  23. اخفت أشعة عدله آثار ما

    قد كان من ذاك الطفيف الظاهرِ

    Or riding lightning, the tumult of his assault

    Like the roar of a ferocious leopard

  24. بطلٌ إذا ولج المعامع خلته

    اسداً علا ظهر النعام الطايرِ

    Neither Antarah amidst battles

    Erased the fame of warriors like him

  25. أو راكباً برقاً وصوت ضجيج

    صولته كصوت رعيد نوّرٍ ثايرِ

    Not to mention he waged battle himself

    With the dark-skinned, steadfast, cutting sword

  26. ما العنتر العبسيّ في كرّاته

    اذ كم طفى في الحرب ذكر عناترِ

    While the enemy was adorned and armored

    Routing under iron and fleeing

  27. ناهيك أن خاض المعارك صايلاً

    بالأسمر الطمَّان أو بالباترِ

    And if you wish to speak of his generosity

    Speak of pouring clouds and abundant seas

  28. والقوم بين مهوّرٍ ومعفّرٍ

    ومدّمرٍ تحت العجاج وفاررِ

    Praise the protector who adorned him with faith

    And radiant intention and noble nature

  29. واذا اثرت بان تحدث عن ندا

    كفيه حدث عن سحابٍ ماطر

    May the Mighty restrain the rain in our sky

    By decree of the Almighty Able One

  30. أو فاثن عن بحرٍ عميمٍ زاخرٍ

    قد جلّ مطلق مدّة عن جازرِ

    Thus the wisdom of our minister spared the land

    With a pure heart and luminous spirit

  31. افديه مولى زانه حسن التقى

    والنية الغرّا وصفو الخاطرِ

    And God answered his virtuous prayer

    With abundant, heavy rain

  32. عزّ الشتا والغيث احبس قطره

    عنا بتقدير العزيز القادرِ

    Goodness came to every land they named

    The year Akka was satiated by the River Kabari

  33. فاحتاط حلم وزيرنا كرب الورى

    فدعا من القلب النقيّ الطاهرِ

    Its regions prospered, its people praying

    For him in every age and place

  34. وقد استجاب الله حسن دعايه

    وأجاد بالغيث العميم الغامر

    Since the determination was made to tame

    The Kabari's surging, billowing waves

  35. والخير حاق بكل أرضٍ أرّخوا

    سنة بعكا حاق نهر الكابري

    One day it submitted to his order without resisting

    Fearing defiance when faced with dams

  36. أقطارها طرًّا وساير أهلها

    تدعو له في كل دورٍ دايرِ

    It flowed obediently before him, chained

    With chains like strands of gleaming pearls

  37. مذ انهض الهمم التي في عزمها

    تحكي تلاطم موج بحر عامِر

    The waters were ashamed, meandering gracefully

    Like the twisting of sugarcane

  38. يوماً تعمّد نهر نهر الكابري

    فاتاه طوع الامر غير مكابرِ

    The torrents coiled around the pools

    As every unruly lion kept its distance

  39. لَّباه فوراً مذ دعاه وانثنى

    خوف الخلاف يطوف فوق قناطرِ

    And the strong citadel's landmarks

    Grew splendorous with fame

  40. وانقاد مجروراً لديه مسلسلاً

    بسلاسلٍ تحكى عقود جواهرِ

    Gloriously triumphant, proudly praising

    The majesty and magnificent beauty

  41. واستحيت الأحياء طرًّا من صفا

    سلساله الحاكى لطعم سكاكرِ

    The supreme ones competed in praying

    For their intrepid, triumphant minister

  42. والسيل مذ طافت على البُرك انثنى

    يحمى حماها كل سبعٍ فاجرِ

    And I gloriously proclaimed, documenting:

    Akka became more radiant with the water of Kabari

  43. ومعالم الحصن المنيع لكم غدت

    تزهو بشامخ عزها المتشاهرِ

  44. وتصول معجبةً وتفخر عزةً

    بسنا الجلال وبالجمالِ الباهرِ

  45. وتبادرت ذات المعالى بالدعا

    لوزيرها الشهم الشهير الظافرِ

  46. وزهت مفاخرةً فقلت مؤرخاً

    عكا ازدهت تيها بماء الكابرى
