جاء الصيام فالف صوم مثله

يقضى وأنت بكل خير للأزلْ

Ramadan has come, matching a fast like it,

Fulfilling while you are in all good forever,

وبفيض أنعام من المولى وفي

عزٍ مديدٍ دايمٍ لا يبتدلْ

And with abundant favors from the Master, and in

Continuous, everlasting mighty honor that does not change,

وبصحة محمودةٍ وسلامةٍ

ممدودةٍ وبنعمةٍ لا تنتقلْ

And with praised health and wellness

Extended, and with blessings that do not move,

وبعزةٍ مامونةٍ محصونةٍ

وبرغد عيشٍ مستطابٍ معتدلْ

And with protected, guarded might,

And with pleasant, balanced livelihood,

أوحشت يا ذا الخل بعدك أربعاً

قد كنت فيها بدر تمّ مكتملْ

You made me, O holder of beauty, lonely after you for four days,

You were in them a full moon,

مضت المرافع والوجوه عبوسة

لا نفس طابت لي ولا قرّت مقلْ

The pleadings and faces went gloomy,

No soul was delighted for me, and no eyelid was still,

كلا ولا من منشدٍ في الصحب يا

غوث الورى كن لي إذا لخطب اشتكّلْ

No, and not from a reciter among the companions, O

Succor of creation, be for me when events intertwine,

يا فخر قوم أنت جلّ مرادهم

ومرامهم والقصد بل كل الأملْ

O pride of the people, you are the utmost of their purpose,

And their ambition, and the intention, rather all the hope,

يا غاية المرغوب يا كل المنى

يا مفرداً بين العوالم والمللْ

O object of desire, O all of the wishes,

O singular among the worlds and nations,

سقياً لعهدٍ كنت فيه تنيرنا

في طلعةٍ كالشمس في برج الحملْ

A drinker of a covenant in which you enlightened us

In a rising like the sun in the house of Aries,

غادرتنا نشكو التباعد والنوى

فعن الجوى وعن الصبابة لا تسلْ

You left us complaining of separation and purpose,

So do not neglect the agony and youth,

فعليك يا أنطون ألف تحّيةٍ

واليك مني ألف مدحٍ متصلْ

So upon you, O Anton, a thousand greetings,

And from me to you, a thousand continuous praises.
