حَذّارُ مُدبِرَةٌ سَكّاءُ مُقبِلَةٌ
لِلماءِ في النَحرِ مِنها نَوطَةٌ عَجَبُ
A sly one, coming and going, thirsty at the water hole
With a lovely spot upon her throat of wondrous beauty
تَدعو القَطا وَبِها تُدعى إِذا نُسِبَت
يا حُسنَها حينَ تَدعوها فَتَنتَسِبُ
She calls to the tomcat, and is called when she is named
Oh, her beauty when she calls to him and responds back
