1. يَقولونَ حِصنٌ ثُمَّ تَأبى نُفوسُهُم

    وَكَيفَ بِحِصنٍ وَالجِبالُ جُموحُ

    They say a fortress, yet their souls refuse

    How can there be a fortress, and the mountains lie defiled?

  2. وَلَم تَلفِظِ المَوتى القُبورُ وَلَم تَزَل

    نُجومُ السَماءِ وَالأَديمُ صَحيحُ

    The dead's graves have not spoken, nor have

    The stars in the sky or the horizon fallen
