حبيبة قلبي سنى خاطري

Do you not remember the nights of love,

Beloved of my heart, joy of my mind,

ليالي كنا نناجي الربى

وتحي المنى قبلة الحائر

Nights when we would whisper intimacies,

And longing would find its kiss before bewilderment,

ويرمقنا البدر في لهفة

فنرمقه في لهفة الساخر

The moon would gaze at us in yearning,

And we would gaze back at its mockery,

تعالي إليّ تعالي أنا

احبكِ يا فتنة الشاعر

Come to me, come, I

Love you, O muse of the poet.
