قطعوا الأرحام بين الأخوة
صيروا الأوطان أس الأمة
They severed the ties of kinship between brothers
They made homelands the misfortune of the nation
قدسوا الأوطان إعجابا بها
قسموا الإنسان أسرابا بها
They sanctified homelands out of admiration for them
They divided man into herds because of them
طلبوا الجنة في بئس القرار
فأحلوا قومهم دار البوار
They sought paradise in the misery of settlement
So they made their people the land of destruction
محق الجنة هذا الشجر
ليس إلا الحرب فيه ثمر
This tree bears no fruit but war
Man denied the face of his brothers
أنكر الإنسان وجه الإخوة
وانتهت قصة الإنسانية
And so ended the story of humanity
Man's spirit departed and he passed away
ذهب الإنسان روحا وانقضى
بقيت أقوامه وهو مضى
His peoples remained after he was gone
The politicians assumed the office of religion
منصب الدين حواه الساسة
فنمت في الغرب هذي الآفة
And so this affliction grew in the West
The story of the religion of Jesus came to an end
دين عيسى بطلت قصته
وخبت في دوره شعلته
And its flame faded in its abodes
The bishops were dumbfounded by it
عجر الأسقف عن تقديره
حادث الأزلام عن تدبيره
The evildoers strayed from administering it
The people of Jesus belittled his covenant
قوم عيسى حقروا بيعته
أبطلوا في سوقهم سكته
They invalidated his statute in their market
The secularist tore the garment of doctrine
مزق الدهري ثوب المذهب
ومن الشيطان قد وافى نبى
And the devil came to a prophet
That Florentine worshipper of idols
ذا الفلورنسي عبد الوثن
كحله أودى بنور الأعين
Whose kohl destroyed the light of eyes
He wrote for the angels an abhorrent book
خط للأملاك سفرا منكرا
وبذور الحرب فينا بذرا
And sowed in us the seeds of war
He tore truth with the edge of his pen
مزق الحق بحد القلم
فطرة تؤثر عيش الظلم
A innate nature that prefers living in injustice
The age helped make his forgery evident
آزر العصر بدا تزويره
خطة بدعا جلا تفكيره
A scheme whose profound thinking is exposed
The king made his religion a god
جعل الملك إلاها دينه
كل قبح ناله تحسينه
Finding a justification for every evil
He made benefit the criterion of integrity
جعل النفع عيار الذمم
حينما خر لهذا الصنم
When he bowed down before this idol
Trickery became a perfect art
صارت الحيلة فنا محكما
ونما الباطل مما علما
And falsehood grew from knowledge
He weaved for us decay on the path of fate
خطة للوهن فينا حبكا
في طريق الدهر ألقى حسكا
And cast filthiness on the road of time
He blinded people with this wisdom
أرمد الناس بهذي الحكمة
إذ دعا التزوير بالمصلحة
When he claimed hypocrisy in the name of reform
