لا تقل في الشرع معنى مضمر
ليس إلا النور تحوى الدرر
Do not imply any hidden meaning in the law
Only light contains gems
جوهر أبدع فيه القادر
جوهر باطنه والظاهر
An essence created by the All Powerful
An essence with an inner and outer self
ليس علم الحق غير الشرعة
ليس غير الحب أصل السنة
There is no truth except the law
There is no origin of tradition except love
شرعنا للفرد مرقاة اليقين
ترتقي منه مقامات اليقين
Our law provides the believer with a ladder of certainty
To ascend through stations of certainty
شرعة الحق نظام الأمم
ومن النظم دوام الأمم
The law of truth is the system of nations
And from systems comes the continuity of nations
إن فيه الأيد يا من أخلصا
اليد البيضاء فيه والعصا
In it lies aid, O sincere one
The white hand within it and the staff
قام للإسلام بالشرع قوام
بدؤه الشرع وبالشرع الختام
It stood for Islam through the law
Begun with law and ended with law
لك أبدي نكتة الشرع المبين
أنت من في حكمة الدين أمين
For you is an eternal subtlety of the clear law
You who are trusted in the wisdom of religion
إن يعارض ذو عناد مسلما
في أداء النفل ما إن لزما
If an obstinate opponent challenges a Muslim
In performing optional acts that become obligations
صار هذا النفل فرض الأمة
فالحياة الحق عين القدرة
These optional acts become an obligation on the nation
For life is the essence of destiny
وإذا جيش عدو في الوغى
ترك الإعداد والسلم بغى
And if an enemy army wages war
He neglects preparation and seeks peace
وقضى أوقاته في الدعة
تاركا للحرب أخذ العدة
And spends his time in leisure
Neglecting war and taking equipment
فحرام أخذه بالبغتة
قبل أن يأخذ كل الأهبة
It is forbidden to catch him off guard
Before taking all precautions
سر هذا الأمر يا ذا البصر
الحياة العيش بين الخطر
The secret of this matter, O wise one
Life is living between danger
يتحداك برضوى العاليه
في امتحان لقواك العاتية
It challenges you to please the Most High
To test your raging powers
ويناديك أن اقصم ظهرها
وبحد السيف فاصهر صخرها
And calls on you to break its back
And with the sword melt its rock
ليس كفء الليث في صولته
حمل يرجف في ذلته
The lion in his fierceness has no peer
A trembling mule in its humiliation
إن حكى الصعوة صقر كاسر
فهو كالصعوة واه خائر
If a difficult situation is told by a triumphant falcon
It is like the difficulty - alas it has vanished
كتب الشارع رب الحكمة
لك هذا اللوح لوح القدرة
The Lawgiver, Lord of Wisdom
Writes this tablet for you - the tablet of destiny
يشحذ العزم بنار العمل
ويرقيك لأعلى منزل
It sharpens resolve with the fire of action
And takes you to the highest station
وإذا تلغب يعطيك القوى
ويربى منك طودا ما خوى
And if you play around it gives you strength
And nurtures in you an unconquerable towering mountain
إن دين المصطفى دين الحياه
شرعه للناس قانون الحياه
The religion of the Chosen One is the religion of life
Its law for people is the law of life
إن تكن أرضا يصيرك السماء
ويربيك كما الحق يشاء
If you are land it makes you sky
And nurtures you as God wills
يصقل المرآة من صخر شديد
وينقى الرين من قلب الحديد
It polishes a mirror from solid rock
And refines the echo from the heart of iron
ضيع القوم شعار المصطفى
ضيعوا رمز بقاء عرفا
The people lost the banner of the Chosen One
They lost the symbol of continuity they knew
ذلك الغصن العسى المعتلى
مسلم الصحراء رب الجمل
That strong branch, the staff of
Muslim of the desert, Lord of the Camel
الذي البطحاء أزكت غرسه
ورياح البيد ريت نفسه
Whom the plain made his planted seed vital
And the winds of destruction watered his soul
أذبلته اليوم ريح العجم
صيرته الناي روح العجم
Today the non-Arab wind weakened it
And made it the flute of the non-Arab spirit
قاتل الآساد ذبح الغنم
وطء نمل مسه بالألم
Killer of lions, slaughterer of sheep
An ant tread on it with pain
من أذاب الصخر من تكبيره
راعه البلبل في تصفيره
He who melted rock with his exaltation
A warbler tended to his singing
من علا الطود سريعا مصعدا
غل بالتكلان رجلا ويدا
He who ascended hills swiftly rising
His feet and hands bound in chains
من برى الأعناق ضربا عضبه
يلدم الصدر ويدمى قلبه
He whose severity severed necks
With his blow wounds the chest and heart
موقظ الآفاق من خطواته
قيدت رجلاه في خلواته
Awakener of horizons with his steps
His feet are bound in seclusion
من أطاع الناس طرا أمره
واجتدى دارا وكسرى بره
He who obeyed people rejecting his order
And founded a land and broke its expanse
رضى القنع وأكدى جده
وارتضى الكدية عزا جده
Content with sufficiency emphasizing his effort
Choosing hardship glorying his effort
شيخنا أحمد ممن في قربه
تكسب الشمس سنا من قلبه
Our Shaykh Ahmad of those in whose nearness
The sun earns brilliance from his heart
قال يوما طريد فهم
احذرن يا صاح فكر العجم
He said one day frustrated
Beware O passionate one the thought of non-Arabs
فكرهم إن كان للنجم ارتقى
فهو من سنتنا قد مرقا
If their thought ascended through the stars
It has deviated from our way
يا أخي فاسمع لهذا الرشد
استمع نصح الأمام المرشد
O brother hear this guidance
Listen to the advice of the guiding Imam
