    Endurance is the camel's pride

    Patience is the camel's stately stride

  2. صامت الأخفاف يمشى ماضيا

    زورقا في البيد يسرى هاديا

    Silent hooves tread steadily on

    Like a boat gently gliding along

  3. نقشت وجه الصحارى أرجله

    شادر النوم قليلا أكله

    His feet etched the desert sands

    Drowsing, eating little, he stands

  4. ثملا يختال تحت المحمل

    راقصا يقدم شطر المنزل

    Swaying under his load

    Dancing, carrying halfway down the road

  5. في المدى من راكبيه أصبر

    هائم بالسير عجبا يخطر

    Of all riders, most patient is he

    Pondering on, wandering free

  6. فاحمل الفرض قويا لا تهاب

    وارجون من عنده حسن المآب

    Bear your burden staunch, fear no fall

    Trust in Him who ordains all

  7. اجهدن في طاعة يا ذا الخسار

    فمن الجبر سيبدو الاختيار

    Struggle to obey, O unfortunate one

    Through destiny, choice will be won

  8. بامتثال الأمر يعلو من رسب

    وهوى الطاغي ولو كان اللهب

    By obeying command you will rise over low

    Though desire burns hot as a glow

  9. سخر الأفلاك في همته

    من ثوى في القيد من شرعته

    He hath harnessed the spheres to His will

    He who shelters in shackles from His way still

  10. قد سرى النجم يؤم المنزلا

    طوع قانون له قد ذللا

    The stars march on guided by laws

    Made submissive to His mighty cause

  11. ونما العشب بقانون النماء

    فاذا ما حاد يجفى بالعراء

    The grasses grow by laws of growth

    Else they wither, forsaken and loth

  12. ولهيب دائم دين الشقيق

    دمه من ذاك يسري في العروق

    Love's flame forever burns in the heart's core

    From that fount blood through veins will pour

  13. يربط الذرات قانون الوصال

    فهي بحر وهي بر باتصال

    Atoms are bound by laws of attraction

    So sea and land merge in bonded interaction

  14. كل شيء فيه قانون سرى

    كيف في هذي المعاني يمترى

    In all things a mystery law flows

    How then can unguided man suppose

  15. ارجعن يا حر دستور قديم

    زينن رجلك بالقيد الوسيم

    Return, O free soul, to ancient trod

    Adorn your legs with the graceful shackle of God
