يا من هواه بقلبي قد حجى ورسى

وليس لي غيره خلا أصاحبه

O you whose love has settled in my heart and taken root

And I have no other but him as a companion

أتى محبك مشتاق إليك فلم

يفز بلقياك يا من عز جانبه

Your lover came longing for you but did not

Attain meeting you, O one whose side is difficult to reach

الحب قائده والشوق سائقه

إليك يا ماجداً جلت مناقبه

Love is his guide and yearning his driver

To you, O glorious one, whose merits are exalted

حتى غدا فائق الأقران في أدبٍ

وحسن رأي وعقل جل واهبه

Until he surpassed his peers in politeness

And good opinion, intellect, majesty and his Giver

مهذب الطبع محموداً شمائله

محبه لم تخب يوماً مذاهبه

Of refined nature, his traits praiseworthy

His love never wavered from its ways

دامت نجابته محروسة وله

الجد يخدم والإقبال صاحبه

May his success remain protected and for him
