إذا قلت لم أقصد جدالاً ولا مرا

ولم أطلب الدنيا مريدا تكاثرا

If I say I did not intend to argue or fight,

And I did not seek the world greedily desiring increase,

ولا مدحة ابغي ولا سمعة ولا

رياء ومن راء يردُّ على ورا

Nor do I want praise or reputation or

Vanity, and whoever turns away from me, so be it.

ولاكنني أوتيت قلبا يميل لل

نصائح وعظا لي وللغير زاجرا

But I was given a heart inclined towards

Advice and admonition for myself and others prohibitively,

فاجعلها في سلك نظم أقيمه

على منبر التذكير بالخير آمرا

So I make them into the mold of poetry I erect

On the pulpit of reminder of good commandingly.

لترشد من مثلي إلى كل خصلة

تحب وترضى باطنا ثم ظاهرا

So it may guide ones like me to every trait

That the heart loves and satisfies inwardly then outwardly.

ألا أنما الدين النصيحة قالها

نبي الهدى المختار من أشرف الورى

Verily, religion is advice, said it

The chosen prophet of guidance, the noblest of mankind.

وقد جاء في القرآن ادع إِلى س

بيل ربك فاقرأ أو فسل كل من قرا

And it is said in the Quran "Invite to the path

Of your Lord" - so read, or ask whoever has read.

دعوت وان كان الزمان يقول لي

أتدعو أناسا طبعهم شابه الفرا

I called even if the times say to me

"Do you call people whose nature resembles air?"

يفرون من قرب المذكّر ان تلا

عليهم وان أمسى لمولاه ذاكرا

They flee from the reminder if you recite to them

And if you spend the night remembering your Master.

سجيتهم جمع ومنع وغفلة

جلاميد ليس الوعظ فيهم مؤثرا

Their nature is to collect, prevent and be heedless,

Hardened, advice does not affect them.

فقلت بربي أستعين فأنني

نويت لهم خيراً وان كنت قاصرا

So I said "By my Lord I seek aid, and I

Intended good for them even if I fall short."

نصبت شباك الوعظ علي أصيد من

هدايته حانت وان كان مادرا

I set up the nets of advice that I may catch

Some guidance for them even if slowly coming.

وذكرت فالذكرى في الكتاب تذ

فع المؤمنين الله حسبي وناصرا

And I remembered, for remembrance in the Book

Benefits the believers. God suffices me and grants victory.

ألا فاسمعوا قولي وعونه فانه

بدا من سفيق قد أتاكم مذكرا

Listen to my words and its aid, for it

Has come from an earnest warner who has come reminding you.

يخافُ عليكم من عذاب يمسكم

إذا ما أقام الله وزنا ومحشرا

He fears for you the punishment that will befall you

When God establishes the scale and gathering.

فيا جامع الأموال ان كنت حاكما

وان كنت زرّاعا وان كنت تاجرا

So O gatherer of wealth, whether you are a ruler

Or a farmer, or a trader,

أتكنزها بيضا وصفرا ولم تزل

تصوغ حليا مسرفاً فيه جايرا

Do you hoard it white and yellow and have not ceased

To forge jewelry wastefully tyrannizing?

وتأكلها حلوى ولحماً مسمنا

بما طيب أنواع الأبازير بزّرا

And eat it as sweets and fattened meat

With the finest spices filling up measures?

على خبز بر مع أرز مفلفل

لكثر ما يسقى من السمن غرغرا

And bread of wheat with spiced rice

Due to the ghee generously poured?

وتلبسها حمراء وخضراء نفيسه

وتفرشها من كل غال تكبّرا

And wear it red and green, luxurious

And furnish with everything expensive pridefully?

وتبني بها من كل عالٍ مزخرف

تشابه كسرى في التعالي وقيصرا

And build with it elevated decorated mansions

Resembling Chosroes in supremacy and Caesar in might?

وتضمخ بالطيب المرفع قيمة

زباداً ومسكا تبتيا وعنبرا

And perfume with expensive perfumes

Like musk, ambergris and pure fragrance?

وتبسط هذي النفس في كل لذة

تبيت قرير العين مشتهى الكرا

And indulge the soul in every pleasure

Sleeping satiated, fulfilled in desires?

وحولك من باتوا عراة ضمّرا

فما حال من قد بات بالجوع والعرى

While around you are those who spent the night bare, weak,

Elders, blind, among them widows,

شيوخ وعميان وفيهم أرامل

أيامى وأطفال فما ترى

Orphans, and children - so what do you see?

Do you know the state they are in during winter

أتعرف ما هم فيه في صرة الشتا

إذا هَبَّ ريح والسماء فيه أمطرا

When the wind blows and the sky rains on them?

Their teeth chatter from the contraction of their empty stomachs

فأسنانهم تصطك من خصر نافض

باحشائهم والجفن قد بات ساهرا

And their eyelids stay awake.

They wake up as they slept - by God's mercy! Does

فأضحوا كما أمسوا فوا رحمتاه هل

ترق لهم والكسر يصبح جابرا

It move you? Is the broken mended by you

By giving them something to shield them from

باعطائهم شيئاً يدافع عنهم ال

هلال وتعطى أنت أجراً مكاثرا

Hunger, and you are given abundant reward?

You withhold spending for the stand on which

وتدخر الانفاق للموقف الذي

تقوم ذليلاً فيه سكران صاغرا

You will stand humiliated, humbled.

Poor, needing the good you hoarded there -

فقيراً إلى خير هناك ادخرته

فلله ما أغلى هناك الذّخائرا

How valuable are treasures there!

Will you leave it for the heirs while you

أتتركه للمستريح وأنت قد

تعبت به دهراً فكن ويك حاذرا

Struggled with it for ages? So be cautious.

Do you refuse to give something that makes

أتبخل عن شيء يسرَك دائما

وأنت ترى فيما يضرّ مبادرا

You happy while you see what harms you and rush to it?

Repair the shortage - what is passed is done - before

تدارك كفيت العوق ما فات قبل أن

تعوض من بعد القصور المقابرا

You compensate from beyond the grave.

And be benevolent, righteous, kind, gentle

وكن محسنا برا شفيقاً ملاطفاً

ولا تك للسوّال في الرّد ناهرا

And not harsh to the beggar in your response.

And O poor ones, be patient in the state

ويا فقرا صبرا على الحالة التي

أصبتم بها يا فوز من كان صابرا

You were afflicted with. Triumphant is the patient.

For you is a day in which you will

فان لكم يوم القيامة دولة

تكونون فيها أغنياء أكابرا

Be wealthy, eminent.

So perform God's obligations - do not neglect them

فأد فروض الله لا تهملنها

ولا تعتدوا حداً وتبدوا تضجرا

Nor transgress limits and show resentment.

What excuse for one who does not pray the obligatory?

فما أحسن المسكين ان كان صابراً

وأحلى غنيا محسنا ثم شاكرا

The five prayers' obligation is clearer than the sun.

If he does not repent, he is killed, and if he

ويا أيها الحكام رفقا فإنها

لظى حين تدعو من تولى وأدبرا

Denies it, he leaves an apostate, blasphemous.

He will prostrate on the Day of Resurrection unwillingly

بيوم يرى أهل التكبر فيه قد

غدوا مثل ذرّ ويل من قد تكبرا

On fire plates frequently.

Likewise for wealth is the required alms - an obligation

فلا تنظروا ما أنتم اليوم فيه من

جموع وأموال علوتم بها الذّرى

Once wealth reaches the known designated amount.

And its withholder - woe to him from its threat!

سيبرأ كل منكم من خليله

إذا بعث الموتى وقاموا من الثَرى

It will be twisted on his face, his sides, his back.

And whoever permits breaking fast in Ramadan has indeed

ولا يحمد العقبى سوى المتقين لا

أولو الملك والاتباع والولد والثرا

Become a disbeliever while present and able.

And superior is fasting for the traveler far away.

فعطفاً على حال الرّعايا ورحمة

ويسرا هدى الرّحمن عبداً ميسرا

And Hajj to God's House is obligatory

Upon every free, adult, able person.

وحفظاً لدين الله بالعدل والتقى

وجهدا لاستيصال من كان كافرا

Else his death is a Jew's, or he will convert to Christianity!

So revere its pillars, four by them

هي الباقيات الصالحات المآثر ال

أوابد لا تؤثر عليها مآثرا

Our religion is distinct among religions ritually.

And glad tidings to its performer completing it

عظيم عليها الأجر والحمد ينشر ال

خطيب ثناها حين يعلو المنابرا

Attaining contentment and ample reward.

As for the drinkers of this wine, proclaim to them

أقام الهي راية الحق دائما

ودكدك أهل الشرك برّا وابحرا

You have disgraced yourselves! Is grape juice made intoxicant?

Do you not see your colors have changed

باعزازه نصر الخليفة زاده

هدى وانتصاراً قوة وعساكرا

And your lips foam and the face turns red?

Your minds are gone and you become like

ووفقه للخير يجديه دائماً

ويجي من المشروع ما كان داثرا

Beasts, but your harm has become greater.

Your speech is shameful and you pelt with pebbles

ويا من تولى للقضا ان ذا القضا

عظيم كبحر سرت فيه مخاطرا

And your nakedness is exposed to the All-Seeing.

Does a reasonable one accept this and on top of it

فإن تقض عن علم بلا أخذ رشوه

ولا رفع ذي جاه على من تحقرا

Two punishments - flogging then blazing fire?

And the promiscuous - warn him that his

نجوت وإلا الذبح في الحلق منك لا

ترى فيه سكينا تجر وخنجرا

Pure blood is violated among people.

If married, he is stoned until he dies and buried.

ويا حاملي القرآن صونه عظّموا

ولا تعكسوا الانبا وتعصوا الاوامرا

If unmarried, he tastes the lashes,

And shame remains with him among people disgracefully

فأنتم أحق الناس بالصّون أنكم

حملتم كتاباً مكرّماً وموقرا

Due to the stern warning and intense threat,

As Hell called "Where are my people? Come!"

فدلّوا عبادالله للخير واعملوا

به واحذروا الاطماع والكبر والمرا

It blazed and raged with sighs then snorting,

And everyone misguided and transgressing was herded into it,

ويا فقهاء انتم أدلاء قادة

وحلاّل عقد المشكلات إذا طرا

Changing the upright monotheistic religion.

And whoever insults the Prophet's companions, the essence of loyalty,

دوى الداء ملح المنتنات فايفح

من أفعالكم نتن دواه تعسَّرا

The guides of mankind, the most pious and brilliant -

I am amazed at this abandoned one in what he says!

ألا فمروا بالحق وأتمروا به

ويلزمكم تغيير ما كان منكرا

May he be grinded, for he has strayed and fabricated lies.

He will be dragged on his face, gloomy and ominous,

وأن تستقيموا في الأمور جميعها

لأنكم الهادون في المدن والقرى

So the most miserable of persons is he, disgraced and dragged.

And whoever kills a forbidden soul intentionally

إذا لم تقولوا الحق من ذا يقولوه

إذا نمتم أنتم فمن يحمد السرّى

Has committed a horrendous crime.

And his punishment is carried out from his

ومن بخبر التجار عمّا رأيته

أتي في أحاديث الرّسول مخبرا

Close kin, and his testimony he fabricated is annulled.

And the thief of people's wealth, the slanderers, the

بمعنى ألا من غشّنا في تجارة

وقول وفعل ليس منا بلا امترا

Oppressor seizing property, the transgressor,

And whoever does not repent major sins,

فويلكم برّوا ولا تحلفوا على ال

روّاج يمينا يكتم العيب فاجرا

And everyone persisting in minor sins,

And what preoccupation is it for people to have entertainment,

فان كان هذا منفقا فهو ممحق

ومن يك فيه رابحاً كان خاسرا

Drums, dancing, playing instruments?

Or gambling, passing time with

وأهل الربا لا بارك الله في الربا

لقد لعنوا إذا خبّثوا البيع والشرا

Checkers, chess - have they come with good fortune?

Do they not know the punishment is severe

لقد أوذنوا بالحرب من ربهم عليه

ان عاند واجا في الكتاب مسطّرا

Upon those who disobey the Merciful intentionally?

Each of them will ride the horror and terror

فان لم يرّدوا ما استفاطوا ويعذبوا

بما جمعوه من حرام تكرّرا

When hearts reach throats.

And the smoker - I have not seen worse than him

وأكل أموال اليتامى تعمداً

وظلما حشى في البطن جمرا مسجرا

Stingy - I remain confused about him -

He sucks in smoke containing fire and burning,

فاظلم منه الوجه والقلب كله

ويصلي غدا ناراً لظاها تسعرا

A smell like the stench of carrion.

The mind warns him until it overpowers him

ويا ظالم المسكين والله أنّه

عليك ثقيل كالجبال وأكبرا

With its blaze, though he knows not what he has lit.

It begets in him tremendous weakness and tightness of breath,

أتتركه يدعو عليك وقلبه

يذوب وماء الحزن في خده جرى

His chest remaining congested.

He has repulsive coughs - may God disfigure his voice -

وحق الذي يرعاه ان دعاءه

عليك مجاب فاحذرن شوم الاجترا

With vomiting and clearing the throat resembling braying.

If he does not repent and leave it honorably,

وويلك منه إذ يجرك في غد

وهيهات أن تنفك أو ان تعذرا

His sentence is foolish, ignorant and obstinate.

He will meet a terrible reckoning when

وحاكمكم من ليس يظلم ذرّة

وبالظلم لا يرضى عظيماً وقاهرا

He sees the rest of the deeds in the Gathering presented,

While the abstinent from remembering his Lord forgetfully

ومن لا يصلِّي فرضه ما اعتذاره

وفرض صلاة الخمس كالشمس اظهرا

Responding not to the remembrance - in deafness or refusal?

Does he not hear the word sent in the Book upon

فان لم يتب يقتل وان كان جاحداً

لها راح مرتداً لعينا مكفرا

Muhammad, related successively,

That one distracted from remembering his Lord

سيسجد يوم الحشر كرها له على

صفايح من نار سجوداً مكرّرا

Will lead a life of misery tasting bitter?

Satan is assigned to him in his life

كذاك زكاة المال فرض محتم

إذا بلغ المال النصاب المقررا

And he will be resurrected blind though he was seeing.

Whoever forgets the signs will forget - so be

ومانعها يا ويله من وعيدها

سيكون بها في الوجه والجنب والورا

Diligent in His remembrance and persevere.

You will attain divine success and triump

ومن جوّز الإفطار في رمضان قد

غدى كافرا ان كان يا صاح حاضرا

-hant victory, and tremendous grace.

Will you spend this life fruitlessly

وليس به عذرا يبيح وفضلوا ال

صيام لمن أضحى بعيداً مسافرا

While you do not settle in the world lasting?

By my life, if a moment of it were sold

وحج لبيت الله فرض ولازم

على كل حر بالغ صار قادرا

It could buy the Throne and the Floor.

So spend it in everlasting kingdom - through it

فان لم يحج البيت ان شاء ميتة

يهودية كانت وإِلا تنصّرا

The prophets and the righteous attain loftiness.

In my view, the youth think it

فاعظم بها اركان أربعة غدا

بها ديننا من بين الأديان مشعرا

Remains strong and blossoming.

So delusion makes them follow desires,

ومبشر مؤديها آداءً متمماً

بنيل الرضا والأجر يعطاه وافرا

While in the unseen are things concealed.

Do they not look how calamities befall crops,

وشراب هذا الخمر ناد عليهما

جعلتم خزيتم شربة السكر سكرا

Vanquishing them before amending while still green?

More amazing than them are those whom you see weakness has seized

أما تنظرون ألوانكم قد تبدّلت

وأشداقكم تزبد والوجه خنزرا

And adversities made grim and ashen.

Their teeth have fallen out, and their backs are hunched,

عقولكمو غابت وصرتم كانكم

بهائم لكن ضركم صار أكثرا

Once ruddy blood now yellow.

Yet they fool around with the heedless, not noticing

كلامكم العورا وترمون بالحصا

وعوراتكم مكشوفة للذي يرى

The state that has afflicted them as time passed fleeting.

So my wonder at myself and those I see

فهل عاقل يرضى بهذا وفوقه

عذابان جلد ثم نار تقرّرا

Like me who have become falling shorts servants!

We speak without acting on a thing we say,

ومن يُنذر الزاني الفسوق بأنه

غدا دمه المعصوم في الناس مهدرا

Though we admonish while hypocrisy appears.

How long will we thus throw ourselves into evil

فان محصناً فالرّجم يا شر قتلة

يحدبه حتى يموت ويقبرا

As if it has no consequence, so we are not deterred?

Has not the time come that we refrain from what harms us

وان كان بكرا فالسياط يذوقها

وعار به في الناس يبقى معيّرا

And cleanse dignity long soiled?

That we be sincere to God, repentant,

على ما عليه من وعيد مشدّد

اذ النّار نادت اين أهلي فاحضرا

Not breaking like one who came and left?

Maybe the abounding pardon from our Lord

وهاجت وماجت بالأجيج تغيّظا

وأبدت شهيقاً ثم أبدت تزفّرا

Will trail over all our sins, forgiving them.

My God! Guide me among those You have guided

وسيق اليها كل من ضل واعتدى

والحد في الدين الحنيفي وغيّرا

And pardon me from deviance. Make me God-fearing.

My God! Make me rightly guided and a guider

ومن سب صحب المصطفى معدن الوفا

هداة الأنام الاطيبين الأضاهرا

To good sincerely propagating the religion.

Grant me Your pleasure without displeasure thereafter,

عجبت لذا المخذول فيما يقوله

فسحقاً له سحقاً فقد ضل وافترى

For You remain of bounty and pardoning.

Promise copious generosity and grace being Compassionate

سيجذب مسحوبا على حُرّ وجهه

فاتعس به شخصا نحيسا مجرجرا

To our elders and parents - their graves perfumed,

And to all those connected or related to us -

ومن قتل النفس المحرّم قتلها

بعمد فقبّحه لعينا مدحرا

With spirit and kindness every in-law.

And include all Muslims in the mercy

وجرّوا لها من عق والده ومن

شهادته كان افتراه مزوّرا

Of Your grace that remains unending.

And bless the seal of prophets Ahmad

وسارق مال الناس والقاذفين وال

ذي أخذ المكس الظلوم المصادرا

The warner prophet who came reminding.

And his family and companions who held fast

ومن لم يتب بعد ارتكاب كبيرة

وكل مصر يستديم الصغائرا

To religion, among them none but steadfast,

My God, be pleased with them and with us by their right,

وما لأناس بالملاهي اشتغالهم

طبول ورقص يضربون المزامرا

And praise be to my Lord, first and last.

بلعب قمار يقطعون زمانهم

ونرد وشطرنج أتوا معه ميسرا

ألم يعلموا أن العذاب مغلظ

على من عصى الرحمن عمداً مجاهدا

سيركب كل منهم الهول في غد

إذا بلغت فيه القلوب الحناجرا

وشارب ذا التنباك لم أر مثله

خبيلاً أراني منه مازلت حائرا

يمص دخاناً فيه نار وحرقة

ورائحة شبهتها ريح خافرا

يحذر منه العقل حتى يكبه

بكانونه يشويه لم يدر ماجرا

ويورثه وهنا عظيماً وضيقة

بانفاسه والصدر يبقى محرحرا

له سعلات قبّح الله صوتها

بقيء وانخام يضاهي المرائرا

فان لم يتب عنه ويتركه غيرة

فقدره مخبولاً جهولاً مكابرا

سيلقى جزاء سيئا غبية إِذا

أرى سائر الاعمال في الحشر محضرا

وقل للنساء إن كن يبغين راحة

وعفوا لعورات المعايب ساترا

ويخشين نار الله نزّاعة الشوى

ويرجين رضواناً من الله أكبرا

يصلين يستغفرن يحفظن ألسنا

ويثين ولا يأتين ما كان مفترى

ويغضضن عن كل المحارم أعيناً

ويمنعن عن عين الأجانب منظرا

فان هن خالفن الذي قد ذكرته

فضحن واصلين الجحيم المسعرا

أرى الهون يغشى من يخون احذروا

احذروا يا وكلاكل من كان موجرا

ويا جملة العمال يا كل صانع

وكل وديع والمنصَّب ناظرا

فمن يغش لم يغشش سوى نفسه ومن

على النصح منكم كان بالحمد ظاهرا

لعمري لقد أسمعت من كان ناجعاً

وأشبعت تقريعاً لكم وزواجرا

وذا بعض تهديد القرآن المجيد وال

احاديث فاسأل عالماً متبحرا

ولو أنزل القرآن عن أمر ربنا

على جبل أضحى خشيعاً مكسّرا

وما ضربت للناس امثاله سدى

ولكن لعل الناس أن تتفكّرا

وهاكم خصال الخير فاتصفوا بها

لتصفوا ويغدو مظلم القلب نيّرا

هي التوبة الخلصاء والورع الذي

يكف عن المنهي مخفى ومظهرا

وصدق كلام في وعود وغيرها

وصمت عن النطق الفضول أوالهرا

وكسب الحلال الصرف والجود والحيا

ونيّة خير صفوها ما تكدرا

وما يرتضيه الله من كل طاعة

يكون بها الاخلاص للَّه مضمرا

وترك ما تدعو له النفس من الهوى

مخافة من للعرش والفرش قديرا

رعي الله أزمانا مضت مع رجالها ال

كرام أولى الاحسان والجود والقرا

أولى الحركات الصالحات التي جرت

على وفق ما قال النبي وأخبرا

أولي العلم والحلم المكين الذين هم

رقوا رتبا عنها سواهم تقصقرا

لقد عمروا أوقاتهم وقلوبهم

بذكر لمولاهم متى دام عمرا

وصوم هجيرات الصّيوف وإنهم

دموعهم في الليل تنهل أمطرا

فلله درّ القوم يا سعد سالك

مسالكهم بالصدق ما ردّ مدبرا

فيا راغباً في حب مولاه طالباً

لنا عنده اقبل عليه مشمرا

وجد وجاهد وابذل المال مخلصاً

واحي الليالي واجعل الوقت عامرا

بذكر وداب في التلاوة دائم

فان كتاب الله من أوثق العرى

وسنة طه فاتبعها فانها

هي الحق لا تتبع سواها فتدحرا

وثم لا تكن في كثرة الأكل راغب

فقاسٍ بليد كل من منه أكثرا

وصن ذا الذي من قلبك والذي

يضمانه فخذاك عن أن يبادرا

إلى ما يجر العار والشر والبلا

فنطقك من شر العواثر عاثرا

فلا تك مغتابا ولا تك حاسداً

ولا خادعا بالمسلمين ولا ماكرا

ولا تقرب الأمر الدني وجانب ال

ردي وحاذر عيبه فيك أن يرى

تجّمل بأثواب التقى والقنوع وال

تواضع ولا تبطر وتظهر تفاخرا

وكل ما عليك اجعلنَّها حميدة

صلاحاً واصلاحاً وورداً ومصدرا

وحب المساكين الضعاف وكن لهم

على شهوات النفس والحرص مؤثرا

ووال جميع الآل والصحب وانتحل

محبتهم واعقد عليها الضمائرا

فهم بذلوا الأرواح في حفظ ديننا

وهم أظهروه نصرة ومهاجرا

وهم حملوا أي الكتاب وسنة ال

رسول وذا الشرع الشريف المطهرا

وكن ذا خادماً للصالحين وسر على

مناهجهم تصبح سعيدا منورا

وترفع بغرفات الجنان مخلدا

بدار نعيم عيشها لن يكدرا

بها عسل مصفى وما غير آسن

ومن لن من طعمه ما تغيرا

وكثبان مسك نبتها الزعفران وال

حصا ان ترد دُرّا وان شئت جوهرا

وما تشتهيه النفس من كل لذة

تدوم فجاهد كي تنال وتظفرا

ويا غافلا عن ذكره مولاه ساهيا

لا يرتضي أن تذكرا

أفي صمم أذناك عن قول منزل ال

كتاب على طه مقالاً تواترا

بان لذي الاعراض عن ذكر ربه ال

معيشة ظنكى طعمها قد تمرّرا

يقيض شيطانا له في حياته

ويحشر أعمى بعد أن كان مبصرا

ومن نسى الآيات ينسى فأقبلن

على ذكره بل دم عليه مثابرا

لتظفر بالفتح الالهي وأنّه

لكنز عظيم قدره لن يقدروا

أتنفق هذا العمر في غير طائل

ولست على الدنيا مقيما معمرا

لعمري لوقت فيه لو بيع زائدا

لكان بملأ العرش والفرش يشترا

وانفقه في ملك يدوم بلا انقضا

به الأنبياء والصالحين مجاهرا

وظني على أهل الشباب بانهم

يظنونه يبقى قويا وناضرا

فيحملهم فيه الغرور على الهوى

وفي الغيب أشياء أمرها قد تسترا

أما ينظرون الزرع آفاته تجي

فتجتاحه قبل التدارك اخضرا

وأعجب منهم من ترى الضعف عَمَّه

وعارضه المسود قد عاد أغبرا

واسنانه انقضت وفي ظهره انحنا

ومحمر ذاك الدم قد صار أصفرا

ويلهوا مع اللاهين لم ينتبه لما

أصيب به والعمر قد تم وانبرا

فواعجبي مني وممن أراهم

كمثلي وقد أصبحت عبداً مقصرا

نقول ولم نعمل بشي نقوله

وانا لنحد والأنوف بها البرا

إلى كم كذا في الشر نرمي نفوسنا

كأن لها اعدا فما ذلنا أعترى

ألم يأن أن ننكفّ عما يضرنا

وننقى عرض طال ما قد تقذرا

ونخلص لله المتاب النصوح لا

نعود إلى نقض كمن راح غادرا

لعل ذيول العفو من ربنا على

جميع خطايانا تجر فتغفرا

إلهي اهدني فيمن هديت وعا

فني من الزّيغ واجعلني تقيا

الهي واجعلني رشيدا ومرشدا

إلى الخير بالاخلاص للدين ناشرا

وهب رضاءاً منك لاسخط بعده

فما زلت ذا فضل وما زلت غافراً

وعد بعميم الجود والفضل راحماً

مشائخنا والوالدين معطرا

مراقدهم بالروح والطف بكل من

الينا انتمى أو كان فينا مصاهرا

وعم جميع المسلمين برحمة

فضلك ربي لم يزل متواترا

وصل على ختم النبيين احمد

نبي اتانا منذرا ومبشرا

وآل واصحاب على الدين رابطوا

وما منهم من لا تراه مصابرا

إلهي إرض عنهم وارض عنا بحقهم

وحمداً لربي أولا ثم آخرا
