مالي أرى اليأسَ في عَينَيكَ مُرتسِما

وقلبُكَ الغضُّ بالأحزانِ قد وُسِما

Why do I see despair in your eyes engraved

And your heart grieved with sorrows branded

إن كُنتَ تشكو من الدنيا وقَسْوَتِها

فمَن تُراهُ مِن الأكدارِ قد سَلِما؟!

If you complain of the harshness of this life

Then who can you see spared of troubles?!

ما دامَ عَيشُكَ في أَمْنٍ وعافيةٍ

لم يبقَ في العُمرِ ما يُخشى وإن عظُما

As long as you live in safety and health

No fear remains in life even if colossal

يا حاملَ الهمّ لا تَحزُنْكَ عاصِفةٌ

هبّتْ على قلبكَ الموجوعِ فانهدَما

O bearer of worries, no storm saddens you

That blew on your aching heart so it crumbled

سيَبعَثُ اللهُ مِن آفاقِ رحمَتهِ

لُطفاً يُرمّمُ في جَنْبَيكَ ما هُدِما

God will send from the horizons of His mercy

Affection that will mend in your sides what was demolished

طمئن فؤادكَ فالأقدارُ حانِيَةٌ

وفي الحياةِ سرورٌ يعقُبُ الألَما

Reassure your heart for destinies are gentle

And in life is bliss that follows pain

وفي السماءِ هدايا الغيبِ دانيةٌ

يوماً ستأتيكَ بالبُشرى لِتبتسِما

And in the sky are the hidden's gifts close

One day it will bring you good news to smile
